PadreC Yep, I got all the input I needed from this site.

I painted the side mirrors, air dam, flares, headlight trim, and that little handle on the hood.

I think I'm gonna paint the bumper...and maybe the rims after reading this thread. How long does the paint last?

vekrause Building off this thread, has anyone gone on to paint the flares, too. I know there is quite some discussion out there about heating/painting etc. Just wonder how it would look with the same shade of flat black. I was gonna clean the bumpers up and spray them too.

chwinne painted my rims with the krylon camouflage flat black too. a bit harder for mine due to the rust spots i had to pay extra time on with the sandpaper. i would definitely recommend the flat black!

YoYo-Pete black, yellow pinstripe around it.

lancetkenyon Flat or satin black, no yellow accents.

convict27 Personally If it was me, I would not add the yellow highlights. The yellow on the Jeep and the black alone will complement it nicely. I always think of 80's styling when I see too much of the primary color spread out to be used as highlights.

My personal preference is Flat black. I think the gloss might be a bit much. YMMV but that is just my opinion. Others might say different.

Tycampbell Thanks, seeing how i just bought the jeep recently the rims are in really good condition at the moment and i didnt want to go and paint something that should have been left alone and ended up with something i didnt like. but after seeing the pictures it seems like they should turn out really nice.

think im going to go with the black and maybe throw in some yellow highlights.

another question. what kind of black do you think i should go with flat? gloss? etc? thought about trying the new dupli color black shadow they have for wheels. supposed to just spray it over the existing but it keeps the metallic or chrome shine of whatever is its painted over. does anyone have any experience with this yet?

lancetkenyon My buddy painted his Moabs flat black too. Looks WAY better. Only had the fronts done here.

Vaultzz I already pained my wrangler rims black and I'm going to paint the cherokees too, but I think the cherokees will look cooler since they have a "Rubicon" look

convict27 I painted mine with Flat Black Camoflauge Krylon and they still look good.

cdridgley I painted mine with a black matte finish. Of course it's pouring down rain right now so this isn't the greatest pic, but I say go for it!

Painting stock rims?

I have a 06 yellow lj and i have always like the look of the yellow on black rims. but at the moment i dont have the the cash flow to buy a new set a rims and i was wondering if anyone has ever painted the stock rims black or another color. And if you had could you post a picture so i can see how they turned out.
