The benefits of USAA are worth the price of admission into the military alone!!

Hell yeah..tell it like it is.....I want the tires that makes heads turn to see what the heck is that....ride rough..dang I think mine rides sweet.....ain't nothing like having the inside of the winshield getting wet when it rains
about to turn 50 and I will not get rid of my Jeep, I will not turn down my hard rock music setting at red lights, I will not bitch about work, the wife, or the kid in college trying to bleed me dry..... so long as I can get in my Jeep and keep from going POSTAL

davis_use My Jeep is my daily driver...The top and doors stay in the garage for the most part, where they belong. The mileage means nothing to me, I love the sounds and the feeling of the wind and sunshine when I'm driving. The days seem nicer, people seem friendlier, and frosty adult beverages seem colder on days I'm in the Jeep. If it rains, I have an emergency top, but have driven home a little damp when it just won't stop...
Overall, I wouldn't trade it for any other vehicle in the world. Show me those vehicles, and I'd just be looking at them to see what else I could add to mine!
I too am on the ledge, but I plan to drive right over it. I'm in a Jeep.

I've never been what anyone would consider a beautiful woman, but I've always loved vehicles. If I had been there and a conversation came up about Jeeps, I'd have gotten right in the middle of it and enjoyed myself.

So......you think you can outshoot me at 1000m? (I'll take that bet.)

The M14 is a 2nd tier weapon. The M21 is the accurized, sniper version of the M14, but even still it's just a 2nd tier weapon. I'll let my glass man carry the M21. I'd rather have a more accurate weapon. There's a reason why military snipers prefer bolt guns.

But the M14/M21 is a fun weapon to shoot, I'll give you that!!

-EDIT- I think this thread has officially run its course.... lol...

Behind my Red Sox. I can agree about Wrigley. Fields like there, and Fenway (have been to both a few times) have a much better 'feel' than the newer modern stadiums.
Haven't been to Fenway yet, but it's on my short list. I'm trying to pay a suicide bomber to rush the Yankee dugout some afternoon. A common enemy makes us allies....

I hate that i can only go 170 mile before I have to fill up for $35. I'm just not in the jeep mood right now.

and my manifold is a little leaky so its starting to sound like ass crack

You're not a Wrangler/CJ person. Sell it to someone who is.

Sounds like you need a new air filter and a tune up.
Im riding on 35's and I get around 260 on a full tank, even more if Im not reving my engine at hondas and trying to ram them.

Gladius I figured people understood the "perks" to owning a Jeep before they bought one. I guess not everyone appreciates their finer points.

My first Wrangler was a 2001 which I bought new. I immediately started to work improving it... Rubicon Express Long Arm suspension, lockers, wench, etc. Then, for some odd reason, I traded it off... I think getting married had something to do with it.

I was in misery.

This summer I found a 2000 green TJ Sahara that looks JUST like my 2001. It was in mint condition, someone took very good care of her and only put 8k a year in miles on her. I whipped out the checkbook and now she is mine.

Rattles, squeaks, tire howl, and all... but no leaks. She's off getting the Rubicon lift installed as I type this, I hope to pick her up tonight. Saturday she goes for her 33's and then I need to dig up the cash for my Warn wench and lockers... hopefully my project will be complete before Sept starts.

I love the smell, feel, the whole ambiance of driving a Jeep. If you want a car with no road noise, a high luster interior, and something that handles like a sports car... you probably shouldn't drive a Jeep. They're off-road buggies, and noting beats them at that game.

I knew guys that owned older Corvettes (back in the C4 and C5 days) that complained about ride, road noise, etc. I couldn't figure out why in the world someone would buy a sports car then complain about the known characteristics of that car.

If you didn't drive a Jeep, what would you drive?

Ouch.

Cubs fans are the last true fans. We aren't bandwagon fans. We aren't fans because it's CHIC to be Cubs fans. We're fans because we love our team. The fact that we're ALWAYS the underdog makes it even more fun. Wrigley has a special feel that many stadiums will never possess. Harry Caray is a GOD to us, making Steve Stone Jesus and Rynne Sandberg and Andre' Dawson his disciples.

We know we aren't going to win consistently. We've accepted that. But do you know what? We're ok with that. We're still going to root, root, root for the Cubbies.

Oh, and Albert Pujols has a funny last name.

That may be, but going to a game at Wrigley versus the Cell doesn't compare at all. Wrigley rules, the fans are great and it's an awesome time even when the home team stinks. I always feel like I'm a duck in a shooting gallery when I go to a Sox game. That being said...GO BEARS!!!

BTW, next time in in Crystal Lake I'll make sure I swing through LITH and wave at you as I sit in the Steak and Shake drive through.

harwa004 Dude, we all have our moments. And in our own way, we are showing you how much we like each other on this thread. We are trying to shake some sense into you before you make a bad decision that you will regret.

I had a 97 TJ without AC (live in NC...it is going to be 100 today and EXTREMELY HUMID--brutle). But, went I had to get rid of it and get the minivan, I cried.

So now with my second TJ (got rid of the minivan!), when I have those fleeting moments of exhaustion and glance at the smooth riding Dodge Challenger next to me at the stoplight, I just remember how miserable I was after I gave up my first Jeep---and I become peaceful about it. Just like a spouse, nothing is perfect 100% of the time---the only question is what makes you happy MOST of the time.

SOLUTION: Get a cheap reasonable DD and test that theory before you get frustrated totally. Maybe with the money you save on your MPG, you can take it and get a bigger lift/tires and be totally Jeep-gasmic again.
08-05-2010 01:11 AM
Sf_Kilo This is interesting I used to have those "i hate this thing" days with other vehicles but after I got the jeep that all went away.....
So did the stoplight racing, the turbo lag, the $80 oil changes, the idiots riding my tail or getting in the way in the left lane, and last but not least the 93 octane prices.....

and i get a vehicle that I can park anywhere and not be concerned about door dings, scuffed bumpers, walls, curbs, handicap poles (yea took one out with the new bumper the other day.....poor pole) or shopping carts parked in the spots closest to the door at walmart......
08-05-2010 12:11 AM
pokey And she likes you..(just don't tell her she needs a bigger lift)....

RoSs I have these days. It passes pretty quick though and I remember how much I love my jeep. its nothing a good deep water crossing or a muddy trail can't fix. Its a jeep its not built for comfort or style. Its built to last and for u to make stylish.
