Geoff@Bestop Bestop and Tuffy both have underseat boxes for JK.

We'll have a TJ sized one in a month or two (I imagine Tuffy will too). That one will come with a cable so you can attach it anywhere - sort of like the universal one in the links above. But it'll be sized to slide under the seat, and that's a nice place. You don't want to have to get out with your guns/valuables, walk to the back of the Jeep and lock them up.

I like the back trunk options (we make that too, you know). Just not where I'd put my gun.

I have an aftermarket one-and I love it

I'm looking for something smaller up front that I can use while I'm behind the wheel though.

That one looks nice...BUT...the only reservation I would have is I wouldn't keep anything valuable in there when the doors are off. Anyone walking past will see locked lockbox and will probably get curious. If it's late at night and you're parked somewhere...they'll probably go to town with a screwdriver or crowbar to satisfy that curiosity.

I'm watching this thread though...I'm getting my conceal carry permit soon and since I eat lunch at the bar almost every day, I need somewhere I can lock my gun up while I'm inside (can't have guns anywhere that serves alcohol here in Ohio) plus when I'm making trips to places like the post office, bank, schools, etc.

Hmmmm. That's a thought. I was really hoping to find something I could use while driving. That one would be covered by the door (when they're on)
But I think I'll definitely add it to my 'maybe' list. Thanks DKarge!

monkeee2002 Yeah if it didn't fit between or under the seats it would just be in the way.

4x4krzy Here is one from smittybilt that I looked at once. It was pretty nice, but it didn't fit under my seat like I wanted so I didn't get it. Check it out here

harleyharv I have the small one, bought it at Cabelas but think it was about $10 cheeper than the one you posted. Its nice to able to use it in the Jeep or in the pickup. I would not trust leaving my gun locked in it for a long time. I think the cable is coated stainless steel so it would be a hard for a bash and grabber to get out fast but............. ANY SAFE CAN BE OPENED!

Would someone hand me that blue wrench!?

Does anyone have this lock-box?

I stumbled onto a website that has a multitude of security items, including:
a small lock box - $40
a medium lock box -$59 w/ free shipping
These two have an option to attach via cable-lock, or bolt down.
a medium REMOVABLE lock box, that locks into a mount that you bolt in! - $97 w/ free shipping
They even have a safe that mounts inside your receiver hitch - $70 w/ free shipping.

Does anyone have experience with any of these? I'm thinking I could mount the small or medium lock box between the seat & e-brake, bolted down; I'd love to hear about anyone else's applications as well. I'm always looking for better ideas.
I'm not too crazy about using their security cable-it would give someone a chance to yank on whatever I attach it to until it bends and/or breaks. Though it would be nice to stash it under the seat and just pull it out when I need it. (wow is that an open-joke-door or what?)
I know the Tuffy products are popular, but I just don't see myself spending $400 on a center console. I rarely leave anything worth over $100 in my Jeep anyway.
