Barrie I don't know about a 04 but on my 06 I just put it in 1st and gave it a good yank backwards and it came right off. I can't remember if I had to hold the button in or not though.

automatic "T" handle removal

Ok, I know it is simple but I thought I would get some advise before I break something. I want to remove my Automatic Trans "T" handle from my 2004 TJ. I am assuming it is threaded and twists or is held on by a screw or bolt. Anyone take thiers off?
