Simply explain to the tire shop that you're getting Death Wobble (explain it to them if you must) and that they need to take extra care to get the tires balanced perfectly. They should be cool with that request, mine is. The stock trackbar is fine but an adjustable length trackbar is a better solution than drilling a new mounting bolt hole... though I did that myself initially.

|tjchad||I agree Jerry. After I did my lift I would get DW at 55 mph. Almost exactly! I did the Redneck Realignment which helped immensely but would still feel DW trying to start back up after hitting a bump or going around specific bends. Had the tires re balanced and have been fine since.|

|RUBICONVICT||Ok....will do the steering wheel test. I do not have a torque wrench, but I will make sure the track bar bolt is tight, is this good enough or should it be exactly 45lbs? And I will be getting tires in the next day or two. I assume the tire shop will balance them PERFECTLY. Is this ok to assume or should I specify that the tires need to be balanced perfectly? The trackbar bushing is in good shape. Is it ok to keep the stock track bar? Mr. Clifford's comments on another thread has me scared.|

Get your tires PERFECTLY (!!!!) balanced and insure the lower trackbar mounting bolt is torqued to 45 ft-lbs.. Make sure too that the trackbar's bushing is in good shape, as well as all the other bushings.
Also, after doing the above, check for anything loose in the front end by having someone sit in the driver's seat and after starting the engine, have them turn the steering wheel back and forth while you closely examine the steering components as they are being steered. Look for anything moving that shouldn't be.
Hitting a bump in the road or imperfectly balanced tires will trigger an oscillation while something that is loose in the front end allows that normally self-cancelling oscillation to fully develop into full-blown Death Wobble.

Lift finished! Death wobble fix begins!
Ok, so I finished my lift....had to take it to a mechanic to have the old shock mount bolts drilled out. On the way back, I hit a bump going about 55 mph and seriously thought I was going to crash. Shook so badly I could barely see the road and my arms went numb. So I was hoping an alignment would fix this because I didnt even set the toe in after completing the lift. Drove for a while after the alignment at speeds up to 65 mph while hitting bumps and no shaking.....so I thought I was in the clear. NOPE! One of those bumps set off the Death Wobble again. I am going for new tires this week and I hope this will help.
Now I was reading all of the threads on DW. Mr. Clifford was saying that re-drilling the location of the stock track bar is NOT OK. Well, this is what I did. I have the RE 3.5" standard lift and it didn't come with an adjustable track bar. I already spent more money than I had planned on, but if the AMEX needs another $150 slapped on it to spare my life, I guess it's worth it. Anyone else running on a stock track bar with about 4 inches of lift? And if I need to get adjustable, Do I need both a front and back adjustable track bar, or just the front? Please say just the front! I am really hoping that new tires and if needed, the adjustable track bar will cure the DW. Everything is tight, so I am praying this will be the cure
