|BigSahara||Turns out its probably my rear drive shaft. I uninstalled the front and it still vibrates. Check out my other post on strange vibrations.|

|AzTJ||It might be out of balance causing a vibration. Take it out and drive around. See if that solves the vibes. If it does, take it to a shop to have them balance it.|

OK, so the bushings are replaced and the noise is still present. I'm now convinced I have a more serious problem. One clue though if anyone can help me figure this one out is that my front drive shaft was rebuilt. When it was removed to be rebuilt by someone else a while ago I had no vibes. I got all new the u-joints but could they have been installed wrong? Could the shaft itself have a problem? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I just replaced the drums with higher quality shoes and now all my brakes are quiet as factory! I also realized my rear sway bar was loose and replaced all the bushings on that and reinstalled. This helped slightly the vibration has gone down but it still exists. The I replaced the rear lower control arm bushings and check the pinion angle. Everything is tight and the pinion seems right on. Problem is I am still getting some vibration when doing about 5-10mph. Today I will replace my front lower control arm bushing to see if this helps and remove the skid plate and check the t-case.

|BigSahara||Hmm, ok. I noticed a week ago the track bar had become loose somehow and I had someone tighten it when I had my alignment done. It will clunk when I start going if I hit the gas hard. If I ease on the gas slowly it won't do it. I am also getting a low sounding vibration when slowing down only. My drums are metallic and I will eventually replace them with ceramics like the front but would that be the only reason for the vibration?|

|AzTJ||That is normal. It's the slack in the drivetrain between the diff and the t-case. I don't think that is the thud you are hearing. I'd check other stuff like your track bar or t-case mount.|

Front drive shaft feels loose
I just replaced the u-joints in the front drive shaft on both ends. I also replaced the yoke in the front differential. I decided to grease the front one and when I reinstalled it everything seemed tight and the way it was. Now when I started driving I would hear a hard clunk coming from that area after steeping on the gas from a complete stop. It only makes the noise if I stop completely and then go. I grabbed the front drive shaft again and it seems to have about 1/4 to 1/2 inches of rotational play. Are the u-joints not installed correctly or are the front gears and/or transfer case connection points bad?
