Fazed I am running 33x12.5x17 on my JK. I didn't need a lift to run them, but I ended up getting a TeraFlex 1.5" leveling kit, and 1.5" SpiderTrax spacers. Overall, I am very pleased with the result. I don't rock crawl, but the places I go required a little extra clearance (logs/small boulders/etc.). Stock ride is maintained, center of gravity isn't increased all that much, and I didn't bottom out this weekend on a trail where I previously did scrape before the mods. Oh, and It was only $100 for the kit (I got an IAFF discount through an online dealer), and $100 for the spacers used off another forum. Cheap and effective for my needs.

I've gotta house in the S.F. Bay area, Ca, and one in Fernley, Nv

In Nv, it's 30 minutes to Truckee-Sierras and thats my gas/food/weather-point for treks-

My place in Fernley is 20 min. from Pyramid Lake, 30 min. from reno, 30 min. from FALLON Nv, 1˝ hr from TAHOE-

ddbowdoin what is the max tire/wheel combination you can throw on a JK without a lift? I'd like to get a lift but theres no way I could do the work myself. I don't even know where to begin to find a shop in the Boston area that would specialize in truck/suv/jeep 4x4 offroad lifts.

33" ---- 285/75-16 Cooper Discoverer STT

For the extra inch you get from 35s, it wasn't worth the weight, expense, and wear&tear to me.
If it wasn't a DD though...





I've also run BFG KM2 255/85-16 and Goodyear MTR/kevlar in the 285/75-16.

that is a good height for street. wallet too. very little, if any suspension mods required.

I'm on 35's with a 2.5" Teraflex lift. I ended up with little over 3" of actual lift, and cut the pinch seam off.

I only lifted mine for breakover angle, more departure clearance (kept dragging my trailer wiring and snapping the connector off), and my rear tires knocked my back fenders off every now and then.

2.5" on my DD was "just right".

GroundHawg you need a lift? if you're having issues with being high centered or you're using alot throttle to climb up stuff, this is solved by a lift and bigger tires.

if you do ok off-road, obviously, you're fine without.

krutj I don't think that I'll lift mine, probably just trim plastic if I need to.

I wheel in the woods and tree limbs tend to do damage..lol

Mine's a DD and occasional wheeler also, to get to work though, having a Jeep is a blessing.....

Really haven't needed to be taller....

JIMBOX If you're talking to me--My jeep is a toy, I only play init

Idrive freeway at 70mph to get back to the Sierras, the 4hi/4lo/w trailer for 25 to 100 off-road miles/camp/fish--

My jeep has no other purpose, but to play with, just like a stupid kid !!

New JK Lift of no lift

OK I am trying to decide lift or no lift I like the way the jk rides, is the lift worth the money, or would i better served by buying better tires? I can run 33 X 11.5 on my stock rims.
