xpocad Do you rotate your tires? This used to happen to me when my tires were not rotated properly

and Shaving the Rotors is a good idea as well

huber15 i second the warped rotors.
08-18-2010 10:23 PM
Snuffy115 I'd say you have warped rotors on your front brakes.

Wrangler Haven If it only does it while braking maybe your drums and rotors need to be turned. Also check the fluid level in your brake fluid reservoir.

UABYJ94 check your t-case mount and the skid plate make sure its not loose or rotting out from under you, also check you motor mounts. If these all check out good then check all the bolts holding the tranny to the engine to make sure none of them have come loose. If the tranny-engine bolts are loose then you need to use a torque wrench to tighten them back to spec..and use loctite to help keep it from happening again..HTH

aenima540 It does it when I am not in gear as well, I tried testing this, and also tried with the clutch all the way in, in and out of gear for that as well

TjTheo You might be at too low of an rpm and the jeep is bucking because it's in gear. Try braking while in neutral and see what happens

Vaultzz that sounds like a more violent form of what happened to me, one of my tranny gears chipped and my 3rd gear syncronization gear is going bad. Which may be whats happening to you

Violent Shaking when slowing down

So, this just a few days ago started happening, when i am downshifting, or not and just braking, as I start to get under 20 MPH my whole jeep seems to shake, my shifter and 4wd shifter shake violently and I have absolutely no idea what it is or how to fix this, any one have ideas?
