Boosta Carfax was ordered before i bought the vehicle. It was clear. I researched this vehicle completely. It is an 07. Mechanic said it is a short.

jk'n I was thinking it, Tom said it...worth the price of a carfax to find out if it had been hit.

daggo66 Don't settle. Something is not right. The airbag light should not be on whether someone is in the passenger seat or not. If you tire was low enough to cause "pulling" then your TPMS sensor should have gone off. (unless it's a 2007).

I would be extremely suspicious that this vehicle has been in an accident. I would run a carfax on it if I were you.

Boosta Thanks for all the help. My mechanic ran a diagnostic and there was a code that it pulled. The seat sensor thi.ks someone is sitting there when there is no one there. Bug he said airbag has not been activated. When someone sits there the light does not come on. The pulling was from low pressure in right tire and everything else checked out fine. They even toldme.where i could get a chiped key made. I can live with the airbag light.staying on when passenger seat is empty.

jk'n BTW, as a warning, you can have a non chip spare made and use it to enter the jeep. However if you use that key to try and start the jeep, the starting circuit in the computer will be permanently disabled and only a jeep dealer can re-initialize it. So the spare key will only help if you are locked out of the jeep and the real key is inside. I got this type of spare because I have locked my keys in the car (not jeep) twice since I have been driving in 37 years. It really puts a crimp in your day when the key is locked inside and you are outside...especially if the car is running.

I recently picked up a blank on ebay from a seller called midwestkeyless1. There are others selling blanks. Just make sure you get one to fit your model. Get the key cut at the hardware store. If you have two keys you can program the third using the procedure in the owners manual. If you have only one key, you need to get the dealer to program it.
This is not quite right. You need at least one key to program other keys. I don't know if there is a maximum limit. ALL of the keys must be present at the time of programming of the new key. So, lets say that your wife has a key and you have a key. You decide that you want an extra key made. You purchase the blank with the correct chip for the jeep and take your key and program the new spare. Guess what....your wife's key will no longer work because all of the keys will have to be cycled through the process for them all to work.

You get the idea? Since you are starting out with only one key and somewhere on this great planet is the other key that originally came with the jeep. When you program your key and the new one, that other key...only God knows where it is...if you believe in God...will be an invalid key and rightfully so...after the new key programming is completed.

jk'n If the airbag light is on this opens up a lot of questions. Has it been deployed? Is the one in there going to work if there were an accident. A new air bag is an expensive item. The selling dealer should take care of that and I would do it quick if I were you or else invoke the lemon law if your state has one. Regarding the pulling, again the dealer should take care of that. The lemon law period is a lot shorter for used vehicles than for new. See the dealer immediately and have them write up a service contract that states the problem clearly and their attempt to fix it. The service contract is your legal document should the problem be ongoing. It proves when the vehicle was serviced, what mileage it was serviced at (always verify this), what was stated to be wrong with it and what service was done to it. Get it in writing or the dealer is not playing fair.

Bought used JK 4dr having problems

No big deal but the passenger airbag light is on as well as slight pull to the right and need another key made up, but was told by seling dealer there was no chip in key. Guess what, there is a chip. I understand these things happen, but geez. LOL! Luckily I am a car guy and understand its part of owning any vehicle. Thanks for letting me vent.
