I was watching the new Star Trek movie the other day, and at the very beginning it has a very young James Kirk racing through the Iowa cornfields in a Corvette. At the very last second he manages to stop before going over into the abyss. The Grand Canyon of Iowa?

Who knew you guys had a ditch that big!

Now, out in Moab, they do have a few trails where it would be unwise to drop off.

I was talking with the guy who own Moab 4x4 Outpost, and he said he sets GPS courses - and fools people. He goes on a well known road, marks the GPS coordinates, but then drops the marker straight down over the side. So people plot the course, drive up there, and then realize it's way down below. And about two days away.

This trail is very intimidating, partially because of being near death and white-knuckled for such a long time and partially because of the name. It's not a technically challenging trail if you take bypasses, but there are no bypasses around some areas that are truly terrifying.

What do ya mean? You're not taking your Jeep? Or, ya don't want to run it on trails? I'll take ya out on a run or two or ??. I just can't take 2 people as I won't have my backseat in for this trip. But, the offer is there!! ;-)

DKDKGUS Well, looks like I'll be going in April also. Going with a caravan of 5 YJ's and a Cherokee for the Easter Jeep Safari. But have no fear, I'll be going for the memorial trip as well.

Tis better to have loved and lost, than to live with that biatch the rest of my life!! Sent from my iPhone
