|Maturin||I'm also in the 2.5 boat. Going to be grabbing a zone 3 inch to start her off. Going to check out wheels today, tires I'm pretty sure I know what are going on there. After basic this summer she will be getting tucked and armored|

|BlueSteel99||I have the 4 cyl. as well; I ran a 3" economy lift from Full Traction (Full Traction 3" Economy Suspension Kit for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec) with 33's and I was able to retain a lot of power, drive well on highway and do all the wheeling my Jeep was capable of. I only came close to rubbing one time with the 33s. I finally dropped down to 32's when I started driving more on the highway (250 miles/ week). As everyone else is saying, although the lift looks cool and we all want it, the lower you can stay with the max amount of flex is ideal. To each his own though; my lift was only 500, 33's about 1000 and rims only 200. There are ways to get it done at good pricing! Do as much research as possible and good luck!!|

i'd definitely stay away from the 6" lift and i'd also stay away from the 4" suspension lift as well...go with a combo lift, such as a zone 4.25 kit. With a 4" suspension you'll need a sye and new drive shaft with at least upper adjustable rear arms so that'll add to your budget.
You're going to struggle a bit, yes...but its doable. Do you have a manual or an automatic? If you've got an automatic i'd stay away from 35's all together. If its a manual, it'll help you but also if you do a lot of highway driving where you have hills you're gonna struggle for sure.
I have a 2.5L with 35's but have everything needed to run them and i still struggle up hills...i just drove it 1000 miles one way which it did alright with but definitely required some shifting and some slower speeds at times.
My 35's cost me about 7500 bucks to run but you could probably run 33's for around 2-4k
PS - upgrade your steering at the same time as everything else

|Tjdolecki||What 4 inch suspension do you recommend? I'm more concerned with driveability than lift, but I like all of us love the lifted look. I am doing my reading now before deciding anything. I'm just worried that the 2.5 will struggle turning 33s+|

|O_M_Jeep||First you should find someone with a 6" lift and try to get in it. A wrangler isn't a truck, and bigger is rarely better. No matter if you start with a 2.5L or 4.0L or 350 your in for a ton of work and expense to lift that far. If I were you, I would do a TON of reading befre you buy or sell anything, including Jeeps and parts.|

|Big Cole||33s will be much cheaper to properly run than 35s. 6" long arm lift with shocks, new rear axle, regear, upgraded steering, and brakes are necessary for 35s. You are looking at over 7k with tires.|

I have a '97 TJ with the 2.5L that is really clean. I'm looking to lift it, I want to do 6inch lift and at least 35s. Is it worth doing it to this jeep? Or should I find a better base? I've been reading that it will turn 35s if I regear it? I will be doing mild offroading(Mainly trails and mud) with a lot more street use then anything. Any opinions would be helpful, thank you!!
