Get an obd 1 USB reader for a real crappy laptop, mount the screen in the dash, preferably an old military all environment itronix laptop for like 200 on eBay, hook it permanently up to the laptop. That's what I did for a friends truck.or if your skilled enough mount a smAll VGA LCD in the jeep , an inverter and a dash cam and make it a removable blackbox/gps/video dash recorder .
Those itronix laptops are the kind you drop in the mud, run over and read the temp of the mud while its raining ..... Lol

Gages on LCD screen
I am going to build an aluminum dashboard for my Jeep YJ95.
I am considering hooking all my gages to 1 or maybe 3 LCD screen.
1- center LCD,, speedometer, RPM
2- Left side, Temp, oil pressure ect,ect
3- Right side, DVD,MP3 ( Media player )
I know its been done for the little racer cars.
Before you say why??? The answer is.. Because I can.
