JKS I typically go on Friday nights after work, went there last weekend on a saturday. If you ever need someone to go out with you PM me and we can exchange numbers! When you went out this weekend, did you encounter any mud in the big mud whole or anything? The past few times I was out there everything was dried up.

Thorshammer7 Nice meeting you artsch. It is a very nice place spent only 20 mins or so there and there was some trash. I didn't see any posted signs, just no dumping.

Agreed

I just came back from the Lake Mary Jeep trails and yes there is some trash laying around and also not to much traffic there as you said. I just met a guy and his wife that belong to the Lakeland Jeep Club, very nice people. Yesterday there were a few Jeeps there and somekind of 4WD truck (I usually only pay attention to the Jeeps) and they were not doing anything wrong like tearing the place up which is great. I am there every weekend but will be staying longer once the tempeture and humidity goes down. I camped out there in the more wooded spot a couple times already and it was really nice.
Take care and Happy Jeeping!

I completely agree. Although every time I do go there is always some evidence that a party went on there. I've found piles of garbage, things on fire, bins for kegs, and plain shenanigans. Especially by the big mud hole. The only saving grace is since I started going, there does not seem to be a lot of traffic there. I rarely see people or fresh tire tracks.

JKS I'll be out there again on Saturday late morning with a buddy of mine. Been there 3 times now and it's a solid little off-road oasis.

Thorshammer7 Hey all, I'm with The Lakeland Jeep Club we are a very small club looking for places to trail ride from time to time. Could someone give me directions and maybe lead our little band around there sometime ?

JKS Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to go check it out when I get off of work tonight. Solo (I know stupid but it's been a while). Looks like fun from Google Maps!

I'm going to try to go around 6-7pm tonight for an hour or so. If anyone wants to kick off the weekend with some wheeling PM me and I'll shoot you over my cell number.

syn-ack I've been out there about 5 times in the past two weeks I have had my Jeep. I actually camped out there Saturday night. I live right around the corner as well, and will likely be out there again this weekend.

This was a pic I took out there last week, I think... The days all kinda just run together.

gwozniakusn wifey and I just got a jeep and went here today and tore it up. its really close to us. give us a shout if anyone ever wants to meet up

syn-ack Awesome, this would be no more than 2 miles from where I live in Heathrow, I go to The Tilted Kilt at least once a week. Can't wait to get my Rubicon X (ordered 5/12) and start exploring a bit, and this sounds like a great beginner spot for someone new to this like myself.

I think I promised the wife I'd paint a few rooms next weekend, but let me know if you are gonna head out. If she forgets I'm in! Lol

Perkolater I know this is an old thread, but I just "found" this spot this weekend. Loved it! Anyone still go out there?

tovrin thanks for this post, I took my 13JKU Sport off road for the first time since i got it a week ago last night here because of this post. still got original 29s on her, and was alone, so i took it pretty easy, came in from the Wallace road side first, but there was mostly bike trails there, then entered from Primera side and found the fun, as well as some guy in his bronco.

I live in Altamonte, would love to meet up with anyone, am new to off roading, so any tips in the field would be appreciated!

damndirtydog Try it it's pretty fun stuff. Hills are a scarce commodity here in central Florida, this place has a nice 25 footer.

Bone-Saw I'd definitely like to hit this up sometime! Btw I think I've seen you a few times while I played with my collegiate league out of lake Mary prep last summer

Wheeling in Lake Mary

Found a great place to do some 4 wheeling right in the middle of town.
Several acres of hills, culverts, soft sand, retention basin for those who want to get muddy and trails. Evidently was an old tangerine orchard that has not been developed.
Directions are I-4 to lake Mary exit east. Left at Primera stop light, Tilted Kilt is on the corner. Go about a mile and pass 2-3 large gray office buildings and you'll see a turn off on the left that ends at the woods, go about a few hundred yards past to a second road apron that also ends at the woods but there's tire tracks leading into the woods. follow this trail veer to the right until you come upon a warehouse parking lot, then veer to the left on an obvious dirt trail That will lead to a small steep hill go up the hill and turn either left or right. Theres good wheeling either way.

Had to winch my buddy out of the mud hole.
Hope i didn't give away anybodys "honey hole" but we have a serious lack of places to go wheeling so I thought I'd share. Have fun.
