Exactly.

I've got the 4.0, with plenty of pep.
But like you said, I enjoy driving my TJ. Why in the world would I want to speed up and make the experience end any sooner.

Life's too short.
Enjoy what you can, while you can.

johninsd Had a driver behind me this morning beep his horn as I accelerated away from a stoplight. Thinking he was trying to warn me that there was something wrong with my TJ I naturally took my foot off the accelerator. THEN he changed lanes and went around me in the empty lane to my left (this was on a 4 lane surface street in downtown San Diego). I waved to his passenger - well not with all my fingers...

So I was on my way to my college today, and I noticed a guy in a white Hyundai following me for quite some time. As I pulled onto campus, he too pulled on. Now, as I park my Jeep, and start walking into the building this guy drives up to me, rolls his window down and yells "learn how to f****** accelerate, you piece of s***" and then proceeds to peel out of the lot.

Now, I know the Jeep is a little sluggish with 3.07 gears and 33x12.5 tires.. but, was it really worth it for him to follow me all the way to my college just to tell me that? lol.

I got a good laugh at least!
hah if you were doing the speed limit in the left lane on the highway I can understand his frustration LOL. I see jeeps here all the time in Florida cruising in the left lane. If I'm in the jeep (weekend car, not dd), and on the highway she stays in the right or middle lanes, shes no speed demon

Spud100 It's easy to give him a break....he's stuck driving a Hyundia.
01-16-2014 06:53 PM
gnater76 He was in such a hurry, but he had time to stalk you and run his mouth? You handled it right, laugh and wave, probably drove him nuts.
01-16-2014 06:48 PM
2004 lj That's just called jeep envy. He was probably mad that he didn't have a manley ride and really wanted one.
01-16-2014 06:33 PM
frankturbo Don't bet on it
01-16-2014 11:00 AM
burgoyne I don't think he had a gun, I'm in Canada

As for seeing his car often, I can't recall I do. I'll keep an eye out for it though!
01-15-2014 06:57 PM
BAP yep that dude has alot of troubble in his world to do that to you,,if you would have said anything back to him he probably would have backed down or worse shot ya from his car,,,----but the very worst would be while you were in class he would come back and damage your jeep--then you would always bee thinking about that..

is it a car you see very much like theres alot of prople that have the same time frame to work or school you kinda get use to seeing them on the road if you do just get his plate number and always smile and wave if he looks at you and if you ever have another run in with him tell him he has an awsome car and your jeep is just slow as hell sorry,,----if you dont see him again well thats great no worries..

but never let someone mistake your kindness for a weakness !!!!
01-15-2014 06:27 PM
Sinister6 Everyone is a tough guy sitting behind a computer or behind a closed door. If he was a tough as he thinks he is he would have gotten out of the car and said it to your face! It's the weak that have to convince themselves that they are tough. The strong know it! Don't give this idiot another minute of your time...
01-15-2014 06:14 PM
frankturbo I would have told him to go ---- himself , but ..... you don't know today who is carrying ! , lot of nuts out there !
01-15-2014 05:12 PM
Spine of God You'll have to search far and wide to find a 5 year old hyundai, much less a 10 year old one. Who cares about what someone who drives one says. lol
01-15-2014 04:21 PM
Plowboy1970 Just remember.....Hyundai resale value........Jeep resale value.......SMILE!!!!

He was probably scared of the fact that I could drive over his little Hyundai if I were still in my Jeep

haha, quite similar to the "internet tough guy"

Yea, it's a slow one on the highway. I mainly drive in the city though. Where I live, the highways have a stop light every like 3 kilometers. I love to look in my rear view and see the look of anger on peoples faces because they're all in such a rush. Go around me, stop whining. Who needs speed in a Jeep anyway!?

I would have flipped him off!! then said haha no I personally love when people do this I get a huge laugh out of it
01-14-2014 08:20 PM
OlYellerTJ IDK about you but I can exceed 90 MPH! :o (30" tires/3:73/4.0)

OTOH, I prefer cruising ~60. Topless. Doorless. It's all about the ride, not the destination...

some of the newer ones are pretty quick. My dad has one of the newer Sonatas with the 4 cyl turbo and before that he had an '07 model with the V6. Both were pretty peppy
