Betsey: I posted in your other thread too.
The factory bows do not separate. I didn't realize that when I posted in this thread a few months back. You may need to ship commercial.

I shipped a TJ softtop a few years ago via Saia Motor Freight from AZ to MI (to me) for $110 and sent another to PA for about $80.
My trick with boxing (instructed the shipper in AZ to do the same) was to get 2 of the BIGGEST BICYCLE BOXES (wide, long, and FLAT) he could get from the local bike shop and then splice them together.

|BetsysJeeper||Did you ever figure out how to ship your soft top? I want to transport my soft top from Mn to FL and I don't want to spend too much. Thanks.|

You can break it down more. The top will ship UPS.
The bows should come apart, and the top deck will fold.
Here's a soft top box (just the box in front - that's something else back behind it). This is a Supertop, but it's very close. Attractive co-worker is just for scale (she's 6'8" or so. Just kidding!).

$400.00 ???? are you sending it Fedex or UPS?
Try sending it freight...truck. It should cost about $70-80. The 4 dr hard top ships freight for $250.00 (retail). Your top should be way below $100.00. Just make sure you properly box it...use heavy cardboard and double the sides and ends to protect it in shipping.
They will pick it up from your curb..NOT upstairs or your driveway, that costs extra.

|zerokoo149||I know of someone that sent a soft top With Greyhound, and then it is picked up at the local bus station. I think they paid $80 to do it that way.|

Breaking down a soft top for shipping?
Greetings. I am in the process of selling my stock sun-rider soft top for my 2010 Wrangler (2-door). I am coming across a serious problem when it comes to shipping. As far as I can see, the top cant be stripped down and sent in parts. As a result of this my only option is to send it freight which would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $400. As you can imagine this is not very attractive to potential buyers. Has anyone ever broken down a newer soft top and sent it via ground. I could have had this thing sold 3 times now if it wern't for the shipping costs. PLEASE HELP!!!
