Yea, they make the disc brake conversion kits and they are EXPENSIVE! But the benefit of doing a new Exploder 8.8 conversion is a disc brake conversion included. Unfortunately, I don't even know where the brackets would be for this older 7.5 because no one wants to downgrade (essentially which this would be). It's not worth the hassle (welding and then conversion for brake lines, yoke adapter, brake line conversion, etc.), so I would take that $75 and run with it. Pick up a 95 - 2000 Exploder Ford 8.8 and adapt that.
I have one I'd be willing to give up as long as you pick up in southern NJ, $225 with disc brakes and a limited slip differential. 4.10 gearing.

|jeep3950||I listed the rear end on craigslist for $75.00 and I got a call from a guy who wants it just so he can do a rear drum/disc swap on his 68 mustang. I never thought about the brakes. Does anyone offer an aftermarket bracket to swap these out on the back of my TJ? I would be nice to have 4 wheel disc and the wheel bolt pattern is the same. Less weight I think and a little better performing than the drums. I looked at a swap kit online and they are going for $700 plus. I think I would rather have disc brakes than $75...|

The Dana 35 has a ring gear diameter of 7.5" and 27 spline shafts. So to answer your question, it is not worth much to a Jeep owner since your Ford 7.5 is the same size as the Dana 35. It might be worth something to someone with a Ford Ranger though.

|jeep3950||I just pulled the tag from the cover and from what I found on the net it looks to be a 7.5 (NOT 8.8) non locking 3.08 gear 28 spline. Darn it. Are these worth anything? It is complete with disc brakes and even has the original sway bar attached.|

|jeep3950||Thanks for that. I just read that this rear does have the 31 spline axles since it came out of a V8 Lincoln. I'm probably gonna regret getting rid of it but I don't think I will need it. I will post it in the for sale section. Thanks again.|

Outside of rotor where the wheel sets against it to the other.
The width of the axle will make a difference if it will be desired or not.
Other than that...exploder axle go for $150 to $250 most often.

I am assuming that you want the measurement on it (WMS?). Measure from back plate to back plate? Or from the rotor surface to rotor surface?

Ford 8.8 disc brake rear worth?
I bought an '85 Lincoln that I drove home and then parted out and I still have the complete 8.8 disc brake rear end. This year Lincoln was the small body (probably same length as the same year Mustang). Is this rear end worth something to Wrangler owners? I have seen where they are buying the 8.8 rear ends from Explorers, but is this Lincoln rear useable for Jeeps? I just purchased a TJ (our first Wrangler) but we are going to keep the running gear stock, so I really have no need for it. I was going to use it for an old Mustang but we ended up selling that car. If it is useable, what is it worth? Thanks.
