RSWIFT Yes it will fit but you will need to get new rubber isolators or modify them so that they put pressure on the tire .This will keep it from rattling

Dmax Will a wheel with 4 3/4 bs and 285/70/17 tire fit on the factory spare tire mount? Picking up a set of 5 tomorrow and I'm not sure the new spare will mount.

RSWIFT I am currently running 17 x 9 with 5.39 back space, absolutely no rubbing with 285 / 70 / 17 tire. The tire sticks out about 1/ 2 inch from the fender

ElectricJay The only rubbing you might have with your set up is rubbing against the air dam. And the air dam is plastic so it's easy to cut. I cut just under a 1/2" on mine. Good luck.

George Ross The wheels I have are 17x8 with 4.5 inches of backspacing. My 265/70 R17 tires were about as close as you can get to even with the fenders. My current 315 width stick out about an inch.

Dmax The wheels I like come in only 4 3/4 back spacing and I want the tires to end up right at the end of the factory fenders. I'm hearing different stories but this is a big expense and I want to do it right. I already have 2 1/2 of lift and 33 is the height I want, just trying to figure out the width. I never thought getting tires and wheels was such a pia! To many choices.

Did you mean less backspacing? More backspacing will move the wheel and tire inwards and increase the chances of the tire rubbing. Or is your objective for the tire not stick out beyond the fenders?

There are 2 potential issues with larger tires. One is due to increase tire radius which is addressed by lift, fenders, etc. The other is due to tire width which is addressed by wheel backspacing. You need to move the wheel outwards to fit the wider tire.

Dmax How about 305/65/17's?

Wheels and tires

Would anybody know if I can run 17x9 wheels with 285/70/17 tires with a 2 1/2" lift and not have a rubbing issue? Wheels have 4 3/4 back spacing. Haven't bought yet but real interested.
