bobsalmon The 94 is injected, so you have a different intake setup. The 88 is carbed. The small hoses are vacuum lines and they should be connected. They are problematic at best. You need a Chiltons manual or similar to assist you. Your best choice is to abandon that carb altogether and buy a replacement from JC Whitney or Quadratech. The factory carb is a Rochester and were always junk. Try a new Weber or somebody else'.s.

Atlanta Al I just put the air handler unit back on my 94 yj. It all depends what you want to use the jeep for. If you go mudding, you will get water in your carb and it become flooded. I had just a air filter when I lived in AZ and it was just fine. I think it is your choice....

need help for my yj!!

got a 1988 yj caberated and i was wondering if any buddy took the entire air cleaner unit off completely and the hoses and just put a air filter in the carb, and what exactly are the hoses connected to the air cleaner i think they are vacume lines but not sure.
