Nope, I was running with connected swaybars. I am too lazy to disconnect manually unless im climbing rocks, which I rarely do, most the time I am on really rough terrain and mud. I personally didn't change anything, just installed the 2 inch spacers. I asked my local shop if I needed new bump stops, and they told me that the only thing I needed to do with 2 inch spacers is get an alignment. They said once you get to 2.5, you should change the bumpstops and get better shocks. I'll post some pics today, but I will go ahead and tell you that I love the way it rides, and it also looks great. I wish I had mud tires, but for now I am running 33" nitto terra grapplers.

My jeep no longer looks like that because I got a 2 inch spacer lift, but I wheeled my jeep heavily with no lift and 33's and the only rub I got was on the fender wells during extreme flex.

I ran it over a few big bumps and up a curb on all four sides to check for rubbing while turning the wheels and I have nothing. So this means the theory that a JK can support 32s at the most is incorrect. I am currently running 295/70/17s on 4.5 backspaced wheels. Thanks for the help man. I still plan on getting a 2 inch bb just for the asthetic appeal though.

Just for grins-measure the d\height of your front tires !!

I'll bet it's very close to 32"--right ??

JIMBOX I have the RC spacer lift/w STEEL spacers and stock extensions-I think they are about $129 bucks now and it's not a good idea to get the DEAKS with shocks !!

This 2.5" lift will support 35" tires easy, since you have a shorty bumper, probably all you will have to do is TRIM your fenders and probably extend the bumpstops--Daystar has the ext. bumpstops

This amount of lift will not compromise any of your suspension and PROBABLY won't need adj. trackbars--I didn't !!

But, you either have to get new shocks-OR- use the RC stock shock extensions

Good luck

JIMBOX Thats gonna depend on your tires/psi/bumpers/fenders

I've got Hankook Lt295/75x16 tires on my JKU and they rubbed EVERYTHING I changed the bumpers/fenders and extended the bumpstops--

Now you have to measure your tire--"installed" and I suggest you don't use higher than 30 PSI, UNLESS YOU'RE CARRYING A HEAVY LOAD--

Mine are at 28PSI-

Question about my stock jk, 4.5bs wheels, and 295/70/17s

Okay so the title says it all. I wanna swap some wheels and tires with a buddy of mine who owns a 07 rubi. His wheels have 4.5 inches of bs, and the tires he has are 295/70/17s. Right now, I am running 4.5 inch bs wheels and 265/70/17s with absolutely no problems. I also have a rugged ridge xhd short winch bumper. Will this wheel and tire combo fit with no problems on and off road. If not, any suggestions on a possible spacer kit that would fit my problems. I dont see why I would need a lift, there is plenty of clearance in the wheel wells for 33's, but its the sidewalls that I am concerned about. Is 4.5 enough, or do I need bigger spacers? Thanks for the help jeepers!
