NAVYCHIEF i didn't take any pics. take a look at this. will take a pic of what the front of the air box looks like in the am. if you have the tube that goes from the air box forward, it simply comes out. insert the fan into that front opening and replace the intake tube. i only used the hour glass tube as the previous owner lost the intake tube.. the hour glass tube is in the filter cover inside the large pipe going to the throttle body. if you look up turbos in quadratech you'll see their mod goes into the air box output. mine is on the intake side.

NAVYCHIEF i took mine out as well as the baffle. it does make a difference. i then removed the intake tube, installed a 12 volt computer fan where the intake tube was, put the "hour glass" tube into the intake end of the box and put silicone sealant around the tube.fan power is from the cigar lighter power. this creates a small positive pressure to the air intake box. much smoother acceleration. poor mans turbo.

Removing stock air reducer

Hi everyone,

I was just doing some googling and noticed an old post on another forum about removing the stock "air reducers" in YJs to increase cold air intake. It was described on that forum as "the hourglass shaped piece of plastic" at the front of the box. Does removing this actually do anything? My guess would be that it doesn't, but does it hurt? Just wondering if I should go ahead and do this in conjunction with a tuneup I plan on doing over the weekend.

Thanks,

TK
