|Regan Powell||is it more likely for the box and sub to get damaged when its ported? and does that mean you have to rhino line the inside too? and rawrgobble, do you have any pics of ur sub box? it sounds like a good idea|

In the back of my 01 TJ, I made a trapezoidal box that matches the back of the seat and the vertical side of the tailgate (wider at the bottom). It takes up the entire "trunk" of the jeep, but the awesome thing about the setup is it blocks the back seat from tilting forward. So, the only way they could get anything out would be unlocking the tail-gate. I have 2 10" W3's a 800W Amp and I replaced the soundbar speakers with 6" JL speakers and the dash speakers with 5" JL speakers. It's a rocking setup.

|Jma20a||having a port is better for bass and a sealed has a much tighter hit. it depends on what you are listening to.|

|Regan Powell||and ill probably coat the box in bedliner for protection|

|Regan Powell||and should i get a sealed box or a ported box, i want it to be weather proof incase i get caught without a top on accident, and ill probably point the sub towards the floor to prevent people from seeing it and taking it|

i upgraded because i wanted something louder, the lethal injection is loud enough to hear it loud and clear with the top down and doors off, it is rated at 600rms watts, i was running it at 850watts with no issues.
you can get an enclosure from anywhere, just do a google shopping search. you can get free plans to build your own from caraudio.com's forum, there are people there who can build one for you.

|Regan Powell||why did you upgrade your sub? and where did you get your box?|

|Jma20a||you can bolt down any enclosure, just get a few "L" brackets. and there isn't much room behind the seat, as goldtj said, the duel sub enclosures do not have enough room inside for the sub to preform to its potential. i suggest just a single 12" sub. check out the lethal injection sub from incriminator audio, its $200 and pounds harder than my friends 2 mtx 8500's, i had one for a few months and upgraded to a higher end IA sub.|

|GoldTJ||There is a prefab enclosure for 2 10s,but it really doesn't have much air space inside. You would have to be very selective and find just the right subwoofers to work right in such limited volume. And at that, you will have absolutely zero storage space back there.|

i know that there are probably thousands of threads about this but i couldnt find one that i liked. im looking for a box that i can mount to my floor to prevent it from getting stolen and i really want to keep my back seat. i would also like to fit 2 10s. if anyone knows of any boxes, please post links. i might also make my own, i just need somewhere to start. thanks in advance - Regan
