scotiez I first had mine mounted on the endgate but i had awefull SWRs because i wasn't getting a good enough ground. I ended up mounting it above my tail light and grounded off the paint under the mount to get a good ground. I have had no problems with SWRs ever since i put it there. I have a 2ft wilson antenna. It works prefectly for me and i still get 10 miles or so talking on it down the interstate.
