passingthrough ..completely different than my 2000.

One question: If that is the torque arm bushing, where is the torque arm?

...I guess I am at a firm IDK...good luck.

Mikeys91 Yes, I found out it is the transmission torque arm bushing. I am begining to think it may be in the rear end again. Re-eveluated it driving again, and feels like it does vibrate faster as I speed up.

passingthrough What is the piece just in front of and to the drivers side of the mount(see picture)?

Mikeys91 OK, check all the wheel bearing. All are good to go. Just doing a quick search for a clutch kit for my 1991 4.0, is this the clutch most are using:

91 Jeep Cherokee Exedy Clutch Kit & Slave Cylinder 4.0: eBay Motors (item 220670551448 end time Sep-21-10 16:56:03 PDT)

I have well over 125K on the clutch now. Doesn't slip, but if it is coming apart internally, I need to be ready when it lets go.

Mikeys91 I did replace my engine mounts, left side was broken, but vibration is still persist.

It is definitely a vibration and not a rattle. It seem to get gradually worse with engine RPM. This leads me to believe the problem is probably in the clutch, more so than the driveshaft or wheel bearings. If it were the driveshaft or wheel bearings, the vibration would get worse as my speed increased. This is not the case. I checked my trans mount and it looks good. Plyable and no cracks. Here are a coupel of pics. What is the piece just in front of and to the drivers side of the mount(see picture)? The bushing were gapped bad and I will be replacing them now:

passingthrough ...could you describe your vibration as more of a rattle?

.... mine turns out to be the end of the clutch linkage that slips into the hole (in the bracket) on the side on the tranny tunnel...looks like there is some sort of bushing that is supposed to isolate the metal linkage rod from the metal of the ID of the hole.
Under accelerations this has been rattling, & driving me nuts....i need to see a diagram to see what exact part I am looking for.

Weird vibration

Hi Guys, first post and I already have to ask for help

I was a member over at Jeepsunlimited, but they seem to be down and out.

My 1991 Wrangler has over 225K miles, runs great, but just started to have a weird Vibration under acceleration. I have done a tune up, changing plugs/wires/cap/rotor. I am fairly confident it is not the engine.

I had in the past, a U-joint come apart. Got a similar vibration just prior to it letting loose completely, but everything has been checked. This vibration is not as harsh, but very noticeable.

I did a search and found some have had a bad trans mount that caused some Vibrations. I checked mine, it seems to be intacted. At this point I am stumped and can use a little help. Could it be inside the transmission? Or the flywheel?

Just coasting down the road, there is no vibration and like I mentioned earlier, the engine runs smooth. Help?
