|daddyjeep||I am not convinced that you will get better mileage with the 6 cyl vs the 8, but then again the V8 could lead to many other required modifications.|

By the time you swap in the 6, you could have sold your Jeep with the 4 cyl and bought one with the 6 and probably come up cheaper.
If your going to swap something in, make it a big'en.

|khenderson||i want to swap out my 4-banger at some point. i've been lookin into a 302. but as far as power and gas prices and cost of swapping and all that considered, it might be good to look into just finding a a 4.0L out of another TJ. it'll be a pretty straight forward swap if you get all the wiring and all of that. your power will be much much better with gas mileage not changing all that much from the 4-cyl.|

97 jeep wrangler. 4 cy.
I have a 4 cy. in my 97 jeep wrangler. I am looking to put a bigger engine in. does anyone have any insight on what i should go to.. i was thinking about putting a 350 in, but wanted to get some feedback before i did anything. with gas prices i was thinking about just going to a 6, but not sure. any suggestions?
