Jcapelo Will it let you shift with the car off? or is the shifter stuck in one position?

Fluid is good. I'll check into the shift fork. Thanks!

Long Time Jeep Owner 1st Time Problem

I've driven jeeps for the past 30 years and loved every minute of it. My current ride (1998 Wrangler, 160,000 actual miles I put on her) left me on the side of the road for the first time ever last week. The manual transmission is in neutral and will not shift to any gear. The clutch seems to have no effect on sttempted gear shifting (no grinding). Any ideas on the problem and an economical fix will be greatly appreciated.
