Spencer1444 Good tip with the front still being locked. Apparently when I removed the defaulted actuator (or so i think it is called) out of the front diff to inspect it and then put it back in it automatically tripped the front locker. So I simply removed it and all problems fixed. Put in a temporary bolt to keep all elements out and diff fluid in. Now i'm on the hunt to find this piece of crap part and replace it. Hopefully ordering it through a local jeep dealership will be an option. Thanks for the help guys.

03 RUBI You might try sending Jerry Bransford a PM. He's one smart dude on Rubis and Jeeps in general.

rk maxxus I have not opened up a rubicon locker before so I not sure how it is locks. I have had an early model ARB do this when the spring cage wasn't locked into position correctly after a rebuild. I would have to see a manual to see what it takes to unlock the diff. My jeep drove like you say your jeep is driving with the ARB locked.

Spencer1444 This light has been on for months and the jeep has been operating properly with the exception of the lockers (I couldn't get the lockers to lock). Did I unintentionally lock the front diff when I unscrewed that device? And if so is there a way to manually unlock the front diff?

Front Steering/Diff Problems

Ill start off by saying that I have an '04 Rubicon. The "Front Lock" light is blinking on my dash even though the front locker is not engaged. This light stays on at all times including in 2WD and 4WD and whether my jeep is on or off. I tracked down the problem to be a broken wire going to the back-drivers side of the the front differential. There is a device that screws into the back of the differential where the wire used to connect to. Any ideas of what this is called?

Also, I now have unscrewed this device and put it right back in. Now I have severe popping noises when I turn. I have gotten the front tires off the ground and turned the wheel back and forth and the same popping does not occur off the ground as it does on the ground. It also tends to happen more as I'm turning and moving conjointly. Also when slowly moving and turning the front tires spin at different speeds. The steering will bind as I turn, pop, and then turn further.
