freonburn I was just back there yesterday and it was a fun ride with it bein muddy. Looks like someone cut out a new path too.

Hopkins Well if the tracks are still in use then that is a different story. I can totally see why they wouldn't want anyone wheeling back there b/c the erosion in/around and under the tracks is already bad enough. Wouldn't want to speed up any erosion of the ground under the tracks with more wheeling. Sucks cuz that is a pretty good spot for VB.

I don't think those tracks are even in service still, and I'm pretty sure most cops don't know squat about railroad engineering...
The Tim Rd track are still in use, I was rolling back there one day and some railroad officials were out there with the PD because some one was jumping the tracks with quads down past the first big pond. I chatted with them a bit and they told me a rail car had recently derailed back there.

Kidduhh There is a sign right after the railroad tracks on the power line. The cops say "you can walk back here, but no vehicles because the dirt messes up the railroad tracks"
07-28-2014 04:50 PM
Hopkins I didn't see any no trespassing signs at Tim Rd. Will the cops still hand out tickets there?
07-28-2014 11:28 AM
Kidduhh I used to go out to Tim rd almost everyday. Then the cops started coming out there again, so we've been going to rock rd where there is actually mud. But Tim rd has some decent trails in the back.

Hopkins I just checked out Tim Rd on Friday, also went to Rock Rd too. Tim Rd is a pretty cool spot. I'm only on 33s, but I have plenty of extraction gear. 4ton pull-pal, 20k lbs snatch strap, and front and rear d-ring bumpers. Anyhow, post up here next time your going out. I spend more time on Where 2 Wheel - Trails, Maps, Ratings and Reviews so you can always catch me on there, but I try to check this thread when I remember to

GhostJeepin Alright Gents, I'm new to the thread but I've been following for a while. I went out to Tim Rd this morning to check it out and get a little mud on the tires. I don't have a winch, nor do I know anyone with something capable of recovery, so I didn't get too crazy. I'd love to get a little deeper next time but I need some company. I'd like to go again tomorrow morning if any of y'all are interested. Hope I can get some participants!

Hopkins There are not any "No Trespassing" signs, but none of the trails are specifically designated OHV trails. As far as I know there are no "legal" spots in VB other than mabye Tim Rd and Rock Rd that were talked about earlier in this thread. Don't know about those 2 since I haven't been out there yet. If you are smart about your wheeling in VB you should be fine. If it looks like authorities have made an effort to shut down a trail, then it is prob not a place you should be wheeling.
07-19-2014 11:59 PM
freonburn I'm always lookin for a trail. Don't care about mud too much. Those trails legal? Heard there's no legal spots in va beach
07-19-2014 02:12 PM
Hopkins All the trails listed are in the Strawbridge area of VB. A couple off of Dam Neck Rd and there is a really good one in Lago Mar neighborhood. Ive been out there before and it has a few pits in a large open area, a couple small hill climbs, and an old fire road full of mud pits. I'll post up locations later when I have more time, but check out W2W to see all the trails. Leme know when you get some time to go wheelin. I know its short notice, but tomorrow is open for me.

I think most of the regulars on this thread are always looking for local places to wheel, can you post specific locations, or GPS coordinates? The hard part for me is getting some slack time to go hit the trails....
