the1sasquach sounds like fuel delivery system would check out those components starting with filter

crtaylor It could be anything .12 bucks ,put a fuel filter on . drive it.( 70 slow down),2.5 cant take that much abuse. its preveous owner never went 70 .its not used to that.just kidding

Fweaky Throttle body may be dirty. Did you get a code?

89yjfreak have you changed plugs wires cap and rotor, I would start there, if not that then would look into your injector.

My new 95 YJ problems...

Hey everybody, just got my newest Jeep about a two weeks ago. The problem starts on my way home from work. Going down the interstate about 70 and the motor starts to sputter. Give it some gas and it will go away. It will continue this until the check engine light comes on then it runs fine. It has the 2.5 4cyl. Any one have any idea what's causing this?
