shipjim Mine sits just over the rear door/hatch/tailgate. Fits fine, I had it on a smittybilt tool bar holder mounted on the spare with a jerry can but just too much weight. May move it to the hood as I like the way it looks and the apparent ease of getting to it.

dont like the smittybilt tool bar at all just too much weight on the spare tire mount.

Rastaman69 Mine is mounted on my hood...I've found that its a pain in the ass if mounted on front or rear to get to when wheelin' & you really need it.

Mine is the 60 inch jack. Still fits fine on my old CJ5 hood. My CJ is about 4 inches high as well. Glad I got it, I used it twice on the last outing for losing a bead on 2 tires from tree debris (don't ask...) and both times, I was in a bad spot and had to jack the jeep pretty high just to get the tire off the ground so I could replace with a spare. Sometimes a little overkill is good

Never thought about the dress thing, but...x's 2 on the hood mount, and yes, mine gets used all the time because of the "accessibility" factor as well..

rd-wrangler what size hi lit jack is best for a 4" lift with 33s?
36"?
42"?
48"?

just curious cuz the 36" is $20 more than the 42" which is 6" more

FNjeep Mickeymouse:

Wait until you're carting around a full tool box and extra axles.

Then, someone says, "Well, if Mickeymouse has got extra axles, then we all have extra axles."

You'll want to punch someone in the face for not being prepared.

Mickeymouse I made the mistake of mounting mine in the jeep ..on the roll bar behind the rear seat. I thought this would be a safe spot and would not have to worry about getting it stolen. What I failed to think through was how muddy the high lift Jack can get. I do not mind getting mud in the jeep. It is part of off roading but sticking a muddy Jack in a clean jeep after someone else got stuck is not always fun. I will be looking for another mount. Either rear bumper or hood.

GatorDeve86 i have mine mounted to the hood but might get the rear bumper mount because i like it more

FNjeep Mine's on the Jeep hood.

Every time I've been out wheeling and someone needs a High-Lift, they go and grab mine because it's easy to access. It's a good, but annoying thing because people usually don't treat my gear with care. I've lost the High-Lift mounting hardware more than twice now.

94impactyj I mounted mine on the rear roll bar with the kit from qtec. That way its out of the way and not going to get bashed up. Also its really easy to get to.
