I'm betting not for much longer. My two local HDs recently reduced their HW inventory to the present 2/3 of the aisle they presently stock. My Lowes isn't much better. I have better luck now going to my small local independent hardware store. I'm bummed my local Ace Hardware store shut down earlier this month, a victim of the economy from what the newspaper article about it closing said.

jvinch76 actually my home depot is pretty good, not the best but they have most average hardware

so needless to say my quest there was a success

6 - 1/4 inch x 1 1/2 bolts
6 - 1/4 inch nuts
12 - 1/4 inch washers

1 - fastened hard top

ha!, i got there by tieing the top down with wire

TerrorJ2001 My Home Depot didn't have that, I went to Ace Hardware

Jerry Bransford Good luck at Home Depot, I have completely stopped going there for hardware. My local HD used to have an aisle devoted to hardware and now it's down to 2/3 of an aisle. They rarely have what I need any more, they only stock the fastest moving sizes now and have completely stopped carrying anything else. Heck I even tried to find some 1/4x28 nuts there a few weeks ago and they no longer even carry that size.

TerrorJ2001 I believe it's M16 metric thread size fine

That should match the rectangular nuts that come with the hard top....

Or you can put your own and not worry about it.

Jerry Bransford There is no specific required size, you can select your own nuts and bolts so long as the bolt fits through the hole. I no longer have a hard top but the six small nuts and bolts weren't much bigger than maybe 1/4", maybe 5/16". No need for hardened hardware like Grade 5, standard duty will work fine.
