wolfen Ok today Its raining, so I sat in the Jeep on the passenger side for two hours with a flashlight, and no water came in from anywhere, could the whole problem be me opening the door in the rain? I've tried everything I can think of, the flour trick showed me nothing except how much powder I can get to stick on the sides of the tub

carpet has been out and thrown away for a while now, it got smelly after I left the top down after listening to the weather man who said no rain till Monday, I'll do ya one better than the rhino liner, I used Aircraft erosion coating, unless I spin the Jeep at 1200 rpm the stuff ain't coming off

There is a foam seal around this drain on the inside and the water would run under the drain and through the foam. I used RTV and glued a 1/2 inch pvc elbow on the copper stub, no more water on the passenger side floorboard.
I wish that was my problem , but alas soft top, no A/C

I only notice it after a really heavy rain, if I go through a puddle even the spot where the plug is missing stays dry, but this one puddle is going to make me nuttier than I am now, and trust me nobody wants me to go crazier than I currently am.

MBLG I removed the carpet as well, just gets wet and dirty, im going to use durabak to bed line, anyone had any experience with it?

bigrat59 Same problem on 97 tj. Only after heavy rain. It doesn't happen often enough to be able to find it!

MBLG Oddly enough I have the same issue with my 99 TJ, after heavy rain a few times over night in the morning there would be a puddle beside the drivers seat, where you are talking about. I still haven't figured it out yet, doesn't happen to often

wolfen That makes sense, except for one thing, why is there no puddle in the front drivers side? And no water marks on the paint from the windshield to the floor? And the only puddle is along side the drivers seat in that well just under the seat back adjuster lever to the back drivers side floor pan.

Ever since I took out the carpet and painted the inside I have an easier time tracking the water I just can't see where its getting in from

Yjwolf It's the windsheild frame seal. The big foam one between the hood and the ws frame. Had that same problem

wolfen I'm not sure, I only noticed it today when I was taking my air pump out of the little space I keep it in and saw the water under it. Nothing running down from anywhere either, and the one and only floor plug thats missing is on the other side of the Jeep.

InfernoGirl Is it wet after driving or after being parked?

Water (again)

Ok some months back I started a thread about the carpet next to the drivers seat being wet, since that thread I have changed the top and thrown away the carpet, Toady I noticed the same area was wet again I know we just had a Tropical storm pass through, but it was dry during that storm, there isn't enough water to need to yank a plug, but its driving me crazy since i can't find ANY leaks ANYWHERE.
Does ANYBODY have ANY ideas? I'm clueless and non blond.
