The Garvin does indeed rotate on the lowest set of bolts on the rear of the Jeep to remove the top... but, convenient as that may be it is still quite a bit more work to drop the top. You have to have the tools to remove two bolts in the front of the rack and two in the back. You also have to be strong enough to rotate it back and either set it on a towel on the ground or a garbage can (I always use the garbage can). It takes more time, so if you flip your top up and down often it could wear off its welcome quickly. Just so you're totally informed. It adds a lot of weight to the rig too, I put airbags in my rear coil springs to accommodate, especially because the weight varies so much based on what I have up there.
I have the Garvin and I love it... I rigged up cross-bars using heavy duty conduit and run a Yakima Rocket Box on it for winter trips out of town, and I keep my Hi-Lift jack and a shovel bolted on to it all the time. Couldn't get along without it...

I saw a Jeep today that had a rack on it and it looked pretty sweet but I started thinking about it and wondered how he got his top down because it was a TJ also, so give me some feed back is it worth getting?
