Jackie I just ordered one from these Bestop Performance Parts. I wish I wouldn’t have hard time with the installation. Anyways, if I’d have, maybe I wouldn’t think too much because I not got some few points from this thread. I really love this site. Solutions are ready made. I just have to search, browse and have fun.

Jerry Bransford The windshield channel that screws onto the windshield frame mounts on the INSIDE rear-facing edge of the frame, not on the top of the windshield frame. The little cut-outs on the ends of the channel halves face downward to give room for the footman loop. So the channels will be vertical against the windshield frame, not laying flat on top of the windshield frame.

blownfanswitch Erick has the right looks like it'll never work, because it sits at a funny angle when you mock it up, but if you hold it in place and tighten it, it'll work like a charm...I've never had any leakage or problems with mine

erickpl No I did not. I missed that part of the post - it was early.

I know of several people who have the hard top and put on the no-drill header and they didn't remove anything either. If it is anything like my soft top's strip is, when you tighten the clamps on the no-drill it may seem a bit of an off angle. I held it down tight while tightening to ensure it sits on there properly.

Hank Did you have a factory hardtop?

erickpl I didn't remove ANYTHING to put on my no-drill header. You remove that rubber and you'll have a lot more rattling and likely water coming in that way when it rains.

blownfanswitch I have the same top you have. I ended up having to pull a metal strip off the front of the winshield was screwed in. I'm not sure exactly what we're dealing with here, what I remember a/b mine is that when you bolt the header to the slots (the soft top slots) it's a tight fit. you just kind of have to hold it tight and then tighten it down. We had trouble getting it to fit, but we just kinda put it on there the way it looked the most secure and tightened it down. If the rubber thing is what i think it is, the header may have a channel on the underside to fit it....if not, there may be another header....i think when i ordered mine she made me specify that i had a factory soft top

?'s about intalling Bestop no drill header bar and safari top

I'm planning on putting on my new safari top this weekend on my 03 TJ. I was wondering if I need to remove the rubber piece that goes in-between my windsheild frame and my hardtop? It appears that this is held into place with some double sided tape. I have the no drill header bar from Bestop if it helps any.
