bc40ton Jeep ran pretty good. Still looks like some steam coming out the exhaust. Gonna check the radiator in the morning. I ran up to Menantico and drove around for an hour or so. Did a slow drive through some trails, found a large pit, no truck tracks. Couple locals on quads, I stopped them and asked what the deal was. They said they dont really get bothered, but did get checked for alcohol a while back. Signs say no unregistered offroad vehicles but if they dont bother the quads, maybe we will be ok. Lotsa large puddles cause of the rain but also plenty of shortcuts that the jeep just fit through. I would go back again if I had a partner. Try to look it up on Google Earth. Large area, small paths. Now if we could just get down into the Pits.
Jeep threw a code on the way home, so going to try a downstream O2 sensor. Redz, Not sure about Wharton yet, think I better stay close at least till I am satisfied the head was the culprit. grthomas11 wants to get together to. Were trying~~~~

Redz72 I'm always up for a ride in Wharton. I'm busy today but I'll be available to go tomorrow. So many trails to choose from.

bc40ton I did some research this morn, and it seems as though we are not allowed to run the property, but are "restricted to established public roads and parking lots". This info came from the NJ Conservation Officers Assn. So I am not sure where to go this weekend Anybody got any ideas?

grthomas11 I'm heading to Manentico on Sunday. Has anyone been there befor? Is it legal to drive there? I get mixed answers.

bc40ton Got the reman head on, used exh manifold and new injectors. Seems to run fine now. I think she gonna be alright. I might drive through Menantico Sat, or someone mentioned another place called silica. So maybe I'll see some one there.

bc40ton You out there Jigga?? Still thinkin of going?
09-16-2010 09:35 PM
grthomas11 I haven't herd from them. Jigga is the only one I know of. Who was the other?
09-16-2010 08:41 PM
bc40ton Yeah thats the one, and you can stock up on any last minute refreshments. You heard from the other 2 guys?
09-16-2010 04:08 PM
grthomas11 Sounds good to to me. I believe the ranger station is across from Atsion Lake. Is Godfries Bridge the one near that little store at the campground? We can meet there or Hawkins Bridge.
09-16-2010 03:58 PM
bc40ton Never been to the Ranger station, but I am pretty sure where it is. I usually wheel east of that area. If I cut through Quaker Bridge road I think that brings me out there. Near the Lake right? I was gonna grab lunch on my way up and meet 12-1230, but gotta split around 4:30ish. At least that how my day is looking at this point.
09-16-2010 08:46 AM
grthomas11 Maybe the ranger station on 206. When should we meet? and what about lunch? Do we want to leave the woods or should we bring our lunch? I like to eat.
09-15-2010 09:14 PM
bc40ton Still trying to figure out whats up with the motor, but where we going to meet, Batsto Village or Godfreys Bridge, Lake Oswego???

grthomas11 Great! The more the merrier. Everyone is welcome.
No problem about the head gasket, get her running tip-top. Its a drag having to be towed home.( no pun intended)
09-14-2010 06:51 PM
bc40ton Listen, I am in the process of diagnosing what I think may be a head gasket leak. So bear with me in getting it ready for the 26th.
09-14-2010 01:06 PM
Sahara Jigga Hey ill join with another jeep friend as well
09-12-2010 07:55 PM
grthomas11 Glad to hear it, I'd love the company. Don't worry, the trails aren't that tough unless you know some good trails out there. I know the roads ok and some big puddles to have fun in. Most likely will be going on the 26th. We'll have to meet up somewhere.

bc40ton BTT, I should be able to go. Only had her 3 weeks but...
