Depending on the age of the jeep and where you live you may want to soak the bolts with pb blaster or something of the like a couple of days b4 you start. After I put on my lift and having to use a cut off wheel more than once I wish that I had started drinking earlier. As mentioned b4 you need good tools, ratchet extensions, good jack stands and jack, patience and a friend to help. A spring compressor may help I did not use one but I had a friend helping. Good luck and be safe. With 4 inches of lift you will probably need a sye because with the spacers may not cure any possible vibes; also you lose some of the lift you just put on by lowering your shovel. Also, almost forgot its been awhile since I put mine in, you probably will get a track bar relocation bracket make sure your drill is charged and have some good bits.

|saveyerself||Thanks alot i should be putting in it in this weekend after i get a spring compressor from auto zone or something. I was also wondering if ill need brake line extensions. also ive read suggestions or about a SYE Driveshaft and stuff for 4" and greater, where can i order one of these and what will i need, thanks|

|killerbee||4" are cake its when you get into the 5.5" springs that are a pain.Put on a hockey mask compress them and slam them in.If you drink about 10 beers it will be more fun and hurt less when the spring takes off your head. Good luck|

|04moneypit||i did my lift a couple months ago, and one key thing is at least one set of good truck jackstands (not the 2 ton ones from auto zone). Use a hi-lift to jack it up until your wheels are hanging a couple inches, put jackstands under frame and use a floor jack to position and control the height of your axle. Once your shocks are out you can drop the axle low enough that you shouldn't need spring compressors.|

If you decide to use a jack instead of spring compressors, disconnecting your track bars is a good idea. Removes most of the tension on the axle allowing easier droop.
If you decide to use spring compressors, Auto Zone has a great loaner program.

If you decide to use a spring compressor be careful those things can be dangerous.
Personally whenever I need to remove my springs I just undo the shocks (which you'll be doing anyway because of the lift) and use my hi-lift to jack up the corner i'm working on and slide the spring right out.
I don't rember, does that SJ kit come with any control arms? If it does just put one in at a time. Don't take both the fronts out at once and same for the rear. It will be much easier to get the new ones in if you just do one at a time.
Other than that. Just take your time and be patient with it. If you have a drop pitman arm to put on it then air tools would be nice to break that loose. Also if you are doing a new pitman arm then a pitman puller will be needed. They are pretty cheap to buy at your local parts store.

|jeeperman||You will need (will make your life easier) a coil spring compressor, but other than that, you can do it with hand tools (air tools make it faster/easier) in a weekend. I have done a couple of YJ's, a Cherokee and most recently, my Rubicon Long-Arm Kit, and they were all relatively easy. You will basically be pulling off parts and replacing them with the new stuff, just read the directions and take your time. Good Luck!|

Hey im outa town right now but i orded some 33" BFG MT's and a 4" single flex Skyjacker lift. i have no experience at all with installing lifts, but i have a couple friends that do that offered to help but they dont ahve experience on tj's. I was wondering what special equiptment i might need or would i be better off going to a shop and paying to have it put on?
