Sounds to me like a sweet side job there. Soft top raising, only $100 per top, you could clean up....

Driving those other cars are incredible, but the Jeep is the most legal fun you're having People laugh when I tell them I bought my dream automobile for $6k. In the end it's costing me somewhat more but it's worth every penny. Where did you stay in Vegas?

Also, did the rental agency allow you to put the top down? My family rented one in St. Thomas and they had the top locked up so you were unable to put it down or take the windows out.
We could put it down, but it was a $250 fee if you returned it down. LOL

We just popped the side windows, I didn't want to have the direct 100 degree sun beating down on us anyway.

Rented a 2010 Wrangler in Vegas this week

The wife and I spent last week in Vegas. We decided to rent a car to go explore the desert. We thought about a Ferrari, Viper, Lotus... but I kept telling her I just wanted a Jeep. She finally gave in and it was a little ole 2010 Wrangler that we picked up from "Dream Car Rentals" on Las Vegas Blvd.

I had a blast. While the Jeep wasn't tricked out with options by any means, it was a Jeep and felt right at home in the desert. Here's a shot of our friend for the day:

And some shots of the great places it took us.

I'll be doing that again next year! Only next time I'm taking some of the old Spanish trails that pass through abandon mining towns. We didn't get around to doing the rental until the last day so we didn't have enough time to take in all the sights. Next time it will be better planned and Bitter Springs Trail will be on my destination list.
