Thanks for the positions. Believe me, my first thought was we put the clutch plate in backwards but looking at the plate and housing there is only one way to put it in. If you try to do it backwards, the springs on the plate would hit the flywheel.
I'm watching my Packers give away another game. AHHHHHHHH.

|Garyk||All the way forward is 2wH, second notch back is 4wh, then neutral . If that doesn't work....I hate to say this but.......is the clutch plate in right?|

Sounds like the transfer case might be in neutral. I was not able to install the 4wd selector because the old one is frozen with rust. Also, the old bracket would not fit the mounting holes. It seems that they changed brackets with the newer ax15s. I'm going to the boneyard Monday to find a bracket that will work.
Since I don't have the selector installed, what position should the lever on the transfer case be at to be in 2wd and not neutral?

|uplifted||Very good suggestion made by Johnnrhonda,,, Make sure your trasnfer case is not in neutral..That will give you exactly what your describing as well..|

|johnnrhonda7508||Not to insult, but check the tranfer to make sure its in gear. Other than that I cant think of anything. Good Luck.|

Didya spin the input shaft and watch the tail shaft before you installed it?
Does it make any change in noise whatsoever when the clutch is let out?
I would rebleed the clutch just to make sure...they are a SOB and take forever to get all the air out when new

Transmission or clutch
So I just got done replacing the tranny in my sons 92 with a 4.0 engine. We put in a used tranny. We replace the clutch, slave and hydaulic line with new parts. I bled the line and it feels firm at the pedal.
Started the engine and shift into any gear and the jeep will not move after I release the clutch pedal. It does not stall either. It's like the clutch is not engaged but as I wrote, it feels like the clutch is moving.
Here's the question, does this sound like it's the clutch or maybe the tranny. I have not repleced the master cylinder but there is not visible leak. The tranny I bought was purchased from someone off of ebay. It seems to shift but...
I'm at a loss here. Can anybody help???
