FREDO 4X4 I know i need new bumpers I just need to get her on the road first and than i can move to upgrading things. Next i need to do the suspension and repair the front diff and fabricate a drag link.

FREDO 4X4 Installed the rear window fabric painted up my seats and rigged up one of those webbing tailgates.

These seats were beige i used duplicolor fabric paint it works pretty good but it took me 4 cans to get it this black. and one can for red for the IH.

New tail gate and international sign.

I also fabric vinyl painted my door panels that stuff works good.

Blue masking tape ( painters tape) and paint bro, you'll thank yourself later when it doesn't peel off like stickers do.

elijah.caine I grew up with scouts and the ih on that black stripe would be pretty snazzy in my personal opinion man... But maybe keep the I red and outline the black H in white?

FREDO 4X4 Here is some new stickers

bedliner installed i used ez liner not real happy with it cause it seems to not want to bond to the tremclad.

I bedlinered the grill and sponged the red back on the international.

The floor in the cab needs a few more coats and than im done.

wolfen I'm kinda diggin it

FREDO 4X4 What does everyone think about this i want to put a 22 inch sign like this on the hood in the black section. but the wife thinks its going to look stupid In my head its going to look great. The H would be red with a White I. I was also thinking about putting just the word International in big red letters in the back of the bed cause there is going to be a webbing type tailgate. And maybe a couple of 4x4 stickers at the back top corner of the sides with 1977 cornbender writer underneath the same width as the 4x4 sign.

If anyone is not sure this is the international harvester sign.

JeepCreeper If I were you I'd paint the tires a different color. I think it will be too red otherwise.

wolfen I was an Ad in the Navy which is a Aviation Machinist mate, I've worked on every type of fixed wing in the U.S.Navy from F4-J all the way up to F-14D and helos from UH-1 all the way to MH-53D
My specialty was Rotor systems, blades, heads, trannies, and tail gearboxes, plus any and all engine mounts, we used br127 on the parts that you can't get to during any inspections, but the stuff was outlawed in 95 as far as I know, but we had a 8X8 vat of it in a room , and when ever we entered it we had to have a synthetic air line supplied full face mask, and the rest of the zuit suit, cause nobody know how bad this stuff was until a roach crawled across where a drop fell and died, then the Navy figured if it kills roaches, we better not use it LOL. But I used stuff with Isocyanates, and Carcinogens, to the point that I can't give blood.
I did however find out that MEk smell goes away after 5 years of being outside LOL ( boots) and toulene goes away in a year (pants)
but I still have some stuff here that I use to glue rotor blades together with that will blow your mind away, EA-9396 High temp structure adhesive, glue some Kevlar or carbon graphite onto the fenders with this stuff and its bulletproof.
10-24-2010 08:41 PM
FREDO 4X4 Im not 100% what the br 127 is but I am a milatary aircraft structures tech. The worst thing we work with it paint with Isocyanates. They make us use breathing air and stuff to paint. but im in the canadain forces so we may not use the same stuff. And that may be used for naval application which i never work on. Anyways if its worse than MEK i would probley never get the smell out of my house. It dont sound very safe thats for sure probley eat right though the filters on your mask.
10-24-2010 08:22 PM
wolfen I know MEK is worse than dope thinner, but I was spraying Aircraft Lacquer ona 76 Chevy C-10. But if ya think the MEK is bad you should have been there when I put it in the garage and painted the bed with BR 127
In case nobody knows what that stuff is its a corrosion inhibiting primer ( military aircraft grade) that comes complete with a MSDS that only says, " warning causes instant death" and goes right into the list of nasty ingredients, need less to say 10 years after I sold that pickup there was no rust in th bed LOL
10-24-2010 08:00 PM
FREDO 4X4 I went about 25% mineral spirits. Man MEK is bad stuff way to much fumes for me my garage is attached to my house.
10-24-2010 07:57 PM
FREDO 4X4 stuff takes like 24 hours to cure and about 12 hours for recoat and i put about 7 coats so i been painting for days lol. But the lowest i went with the sand paper was 80 grit. Its nothing fancy but its good enough for me. besides i plan on driving this thing like it was a tank.
10-24-2010 07:57 PM
wolfen Ya missed a big spot on the hood, its still black

Just yanking ya man thats a sweet paint job, I can't believe ya did that with a Wagner, last one I did like that I had to cut it with MEK, 30% just to get it to run through.
10-24-2010 07:53 PM
FREDO 4X4 Once its dry im going to push it out in the yard but for now thats about as much as i got.
10-24-2010 07:51 PM
cavediverjc Love it. More pics?
10-24-2010 07:36 PM
FREDO 4X4 The paint looks orange but its really red. I think it was the flash from the camera
10-24-2010 07:34 PM
FREDO 4X4 I just need to put the box liner on the inside floor and bed and paint the roof black. But anyways heres what i got so far. I used a electric airless paint gun got it for 40 bucks. But it was used more to just wack the paint on for the roller after to clean it up and smooth it out. With the gun, paint, and rollers im at about 120 bucks.

10-05-2010 09:55 PM
FREDO 4X4 Does anybody have any ideas about filling in the small gap i have between the sheet metal and the old fiberglass top. So far all i got is more bondo but i dont want to build up on the white sheet metal part cause its going to be alot of work to make it look good. so if i just fill in the gap up to the metal and sand it down flat im not going to have any radius at the joint. Keep in mind im painting this with a roller. I just want it to look ok is all.

If you really, really, want to piss them off, tell them you've changed your mind, and you've decided to just take the axles and use them on a cool looking CJ.

Then duck.

The guys on Binder Bulletin are the keepers of the flame: the anointed ones on the mount keeping holy all that is Binder. That's OK, because it seems that someone has to to do it. Even on this Forum us Jeep people are a bit the same (how dare you put low profiles, paint it that color, etc).
