|zpratt4||What I did was move the center console back. There are 2 screws in the console, one in the cup holder, and 2 under the shift boot (At least that's how it is on my 99 TJ). I first tried removing the foam piece, but that did not work. Now without the foam and with the console shifted back, everything works just like it used to. I think there is a thread somewhere on here with details about how to do it.|

|Yjwolf||My bro had that prob with his 4lo. I just pulled the console and ground off 1/4 in of metal. Shifts fine|

|2006LJRubicon||Would it be possible to bend the shaft of the shifter so it does not hit? If so, how would I go about that? Or is there an aftermarket shifter that could do the job?|

The BEST and most expensive way, which tyou probably don't want to hear, is an SYE kit for the t-case, CV driveline and at least adjustible upper rear control arms. That will bring the shifter back to where it belongs.
When I ran a t-case drop , I just removed the upper boot. There is still a boot underneath that which keeps you from being able to look down at the transmission. I pulled the plastic trim piece out of the upper boot and put it back in so it *almost* looks OEM. But I tell ya the JEep NEVER shifted so great.
I have heard of folks removing just the foam pad that in inside the upper boot and goes around the shifter, but don't have any real world experience to verify this.

I just had a 4" lift installed on my 2006 unlimited rubicon and when they dropped the transfer case the location of the shifter obviously changed. The problem is that it now hits on the trim piece on the center console and has a lot of difficulty going into reverse. What is the best way to correct this problem? Do they make an aftermarket trim piece that moves the shifting area farther towards the rear of the jeep
