ssramage Well my wife isn't completely on board yet, but I just made a deal on a 2014 Willys Unlimited that I found. Firecracker Red, 6MT, and hard top. Always wanted a Jeep, now I just need to teach my wife to drive a stick shift and she'll be good to go! Jeeps are just meant to be manuals!

You know for a daily driver I think it would be much better with the limited slip in the rear and an aftermarket selectable locker up front for when you really need to get with it. After the current deluge of parts that I ordered I think I might get a selectable locker before I get wheels and tires.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Full doors, soft top, no leaks (yet). I am NEVER this lucky.

Remember how Forest Gump described all the different kinda or rain in Vietnam? My Jeep tends to respond to rain differently. If it's windy and the rain is being pushed left to right, no leaks, but if it comes straight down my Jeep rains in the floor board. I had 2 inches of standing water in my Jeep the other day.

sincemyyouth I realized about 8:30 last night that I need to take a hard look at the Willys - it might just be the model for me. I have a 2011 JKU sport and am considering a new one instead. Can someone point me to a source that lists in specific details how this is different from the Sport? I am aware of the:
Willys logo
Black wheels
Supposedly knobbier tires
3.73 axle

I'm going out in a few hours to eyeball some, but asking the forum because I'm not banking on some salesman actually knowing these finer points, especially the hidden ones.

On a tangent, my husband asked me last night why I want the 3.73 instead of 3.21. All I knew was that it was part of the max tow package that I currently have and wanted to keep (though on a Willys I might install the tow hitch and wiring myself). My husband then correctly pointed out that I have never towed anything with my 2011, and that the 3.73 causes lower gas mileage than the 3.21. Thoughts? I hate it when his logic overcomes my emotional desires....

Thanks, Sharon in WA

If you think you'll want power, I'd get it from the factory vs. Aftermarket. I have it and don't regret the choice, despite the raping on the up charge for the JK.

ive had both, here's my opinion
Half doors= louder on the highway, a pain at drive through windows, you can't scrape them, and less secure in the fact that people may bend your frame to get to your door locks (even if unlocked. On the plus side, they in my opinion look much cooler than full doors, when you take the soft top down and the soft uppers off you get a much more open air feel. But the number one advantage is removing, replacing. They are much lighter and more controllable so your a lot less likely to scratch your paint.
Full doors= much more solid feel, power options available (added weight) gives the vehicle a more secure feeling, you can partially open a window, but they are unwieldy to put back on the jeep. I can carry the half door in one hand like a stack of books. No such ease with the full doors.
I got the full doors, and I am happy. I would love to have half doors too though.

I don't see any doors to lock or windows to put up.

I decided against paying $1K for an option that is going to sit in my garage the majority of the time.

YtownWillys '14 Willys 2 door. Got the W and power. It's my wife's daily driver. She didn't want the power convenience group but I wanted it for safety. Like a previous poster said its nice to be able to lock the doors and roll up the windows immediately if you need it. I drive a F150 with the FX4 off road package and this makes my truck feel like a liability off road. No comparison. Love the jeep. Love the look.

offroadsynthia new to wranglers, but my wife's new toy is a unlimited wrangler willy's..........must say, i drive a f250, rav 4, and sub outback..............wranglers are in their own class......the willy's is nice due to the increased towing, susp., and it looks nice.........my wife got the copper........i am jealous, this vehicle driving on the property is second to none........i might just have converted to a jeep man.

that depends on the options you want to get. You have to get the W for the side air bags or power convene group. If you don't want any of that, save the. $. You can add AC to the K package.
