Ehatcher Make sure you get your trail rated package from the dealer btw. The willys package comes with one. Dealer forgot to mention this and I had to have them ship it to me!

I work at a dealership and thats what we do to find problems like these. Sometimes you will be surprised to find out that the water is coming in from a diff. Place than you thought. Let me know what you discover.

Wow your Jeep looks great but that is a biggest load of crap I have ever heard the crush cans mandated by the federal government and have nothing to do with the airbag deployment and if they actually said that to you they are complete liars. And used that to upsell you to more expensive bumper now if you like it that's great but he just wanted upsell you. I would never do business with that place again. PS the jeep airbags are deployed by computers not sensors has nothing to do with with the bumper. The crush cans are only for low speed impacts to minimize damage.

Razer After reading so many stories about the door leaks and the poor performance by the dealers, I am really hesitant to take mine in for repair. I keep hoping some enterprising company comes up with an aftermarket seal that will fix the problem. At least mine is only a small leak.

If I wasn't in love with this Jeep id start the paperwork on a Lemon law. I just can't let wet willy go down like this. Back to the dealer tomorrow.

This. I did the base WW and added AC, Auto trans, and premium soft top. Definitely was cheaper than the W package.

What if you found a rubber grommet that would fit in the drain opening? But, before you install it you put a piece of screening or a lightly ventilated mesh (I'm thinking something similar to SpiderWebShade type mesh) over the opening that would be held in place by the grommet?

That would keep more (not perfect, but should definitely lessen the spray) water out of the floor, yet still allow a build up of water to weep out...

I thought I had seen something ready-made like this for backpacks, but I just spent fifteen minutes searching and couldn't come up with the correct search term.


Aha! I know this isn't for a jeep, but this is the kind of thing I was thinking about originally!

I was just being an ass if there is the least little chance of rain I throw a cover over the top like little girl afraid of getting her hair wet. ;-)

Yes - I am extremely happy to have my Willys. I have wanted one for a long time and glad I waited for the Willys model. I got the 430. It is more than enough for me.

chargermop See I think I know where the confusion lies the top and doors are simply for shipping purposes only and should be removed immediately and stored away. Jeeps are intended to be driven naked now go take all that crap off your Jeep and drive naked. :-)

I agree with Kev that manual removable tops can not be remedied with engineering due to the human error factor. I do feel that leaking doors are a bit easier to fix. Even though they are also removable, most of these leaks are happening before anyone had a chance to take the doors off.
