456 gearing I cant do tht with a Dana 35? Can I put a trutrac limited slip in the rear I heard thats a cheap

Bradyu123 Unfortunately I have the dana 35 and thanks for the posts. I hope my sub doesint get stolen but I got it for free with a set of used 33 super swampers I bought but havint put on yet cuz im waiting for these to wear down. As of now im pretty sure the gearing is stock. The guy I bought it from I think just had a lift installed. Then I put a winch on from my Last jeep and a new rear bumper with tire carrier. I need a diffrent axle to run trutrac limited slips?

mrcarcrazy First, welcome to the forum.

Second IMO that speaker begs to be stolen, but until that happens it looks alright. (Maybe I just have bad luck, but anytime I put anything 1/2 visible it grows legs...so I've stopped doing that.).


Look at your rear diff. cover from the back... If it has a metal fill plug consider yourself lucky as you have a Dana 44. If it has a rubber fill plug its a Dana 35. which isn't a "end of the world" type of thing, but its not the best you could hope for either.

On gearing, do it once. so if you plan on getting larger tires in the future, I'd just stick with the OEM gears until you up it...but I'm not a fan of doing things twice. (its expensive, and I'm cheap).

many say DD on 33's is fine with OEM gears, but I don't know which gearing you have, and I'm not you, so that's one you'll have to decide on.

I applaud your enthusiasm, but damn those are some dark pics

530ktm With 33 inch tires you should go with 456 gearing. If you have the dana 35 in the rear you will want to be very careful with those big tires. If you want to lock the rear end you will need to upgrade the axle which will take money that you seem to be lacking. It goes on and on, one thing leads to another. The speaker is nice too.

Dockman4 Welcome. Your Jeep's looking pretty good. Don't know about all the other questions, I'm new to the Jeep world myself, but I know I love it. One thing I have learned though is that everybody on here seems to have different tastes. I like the sub, some people might not, but you bought the Jeep so you can do whatever YOU like with it. Keep us posted on what you do with it.

2004 columbia edition

Put on new tire carrier have 3 and 1/2 inch lift with 33s and was wondering what gearing I should go with it's a 4.0 liter and a 5 speed. I'm 17 so money is my biggest problem how could I get away with a nice trail rig and every day driver. I was thinking about trutrac lockers also. Lol I was wondering what u all would think about the sub I just put in. This is my first post I just joined the fourm
