1BLKJP Everything will be a perfect swap for you. The input shaft spline count is the same for those and the 231's haven't changed a bit in quite a number of years. I'd say if the price is right then go for it.

krankieone All the Aussie TJ's got D44's so I'm ok there but will have to measure the shaft length.

4Jeepn It should just bolt in as they are both 231 T-case units. However look to see if all the same wire's for speedo t-case handle shifter etc appear to be the same. Depending on which rear end you have you may need a different driveshaft.

Transfer case NP231 question

A mate of mine is getting an atlas (lucky bugger) and has given me first refusal on his existing case with Supershort HD sye and double cardin drive shafts .What I need to know is what has to be changed over to get his box from an 04 manual into my 97 auto?
