|Mortalis5509||I had to deal with idiots when they aligned my steering for my tj after i put on the 3.25in RC lift. They said I needed a drop pittman arm because they couldn't loosen the drag link. The guy goes " I bench 375 and we couldn't pull it apart". Well that's a good thing you use your back to pull with but I guess they use there chest to pull with. No too sure. Also I don't think you will be able to loosen anything by pulling when there are threads involved.|

|Jerry Bransford||The guy in NAPA is CLUELESS, your TJ absolutely needs the track bar in place or you will lose your steering. Without the trackbar, your axle would move sideways left/right when you turned your steering wheel instead of your wheels pointing left/right.|

|mavrick300||Ok so get this! As I drive into our local tire shop I here this loud ping! I figured it was just someone stoping a tool in the shop. So I have the guy take it over to the alignment station and he calls me back there. It turns out that the bolt holding my track bar in broke! So I went over to napa(right across the street) and I ask the guy if he has any of the bolts I need. He said "oh you don't need to have your track bar hooked up I suggest that you just take it off it gives you better wheel articulation." this sounds kinda weird to me anyone ever heard of this or done it?|

All done! Good thing I had a spring compressor....would have never gotten the fronts in with out it. Rear was a snap.

|Jerry Bransford||One more hint... when the steering wheel is turned too far to the right as you steer straight down the road, that means the drag link is too short so it needs to be lengthened with the drag link's adjustment link. That is the usual condition seen after installing a suspension lift.|

All you have to do is adjust the length of the drag link by turning the short 5" link it has on it that is there for that purpose. Turn it until the steering wheel is straight with several test drives usually needed until the steering wheel is perfectly straight again.
You also must set the toe-in back to where it needs to be because installing a suspension lift dramatically increases the toe-in to the point that would cause rapid tire wear.
Simply turn the tie rod until the front edges of the front tires are 1/16" to 1/8" (no more) closer together than they are at the rear.

The below two pics show an easier way to set your toe-in which produces a more accurate and more repeatable result. All you need are a pair of 1" square aluminum tubes and spring steel clamps. Mark the tubes at points equal to your tire diameter and measure between them at the marks.

I was just gonna ask if you relocated the front trac bar like in their instructions. I did not need to do that I was perfectly centered but be careful that weakens the mounting bracket and can cause issues with your trac bar. Also relocating it is exactly why your steering wheel is all out of wack.
Everyone's info above is also a good idea to listen to.

|mavrick300||Yeah I said my jeep is in pre-runner mode haha. Also there isn't a need to buy the $129.99 adjustable track bar. All you have to do is re-drill the factory hole. It felt really weird driving it and couldn't drive at night haha.|

|s3nt3nc3d||While, Oregon is right...you will need to adjust your toe-in (you can do this yourself...just search for basic jeep alignment on here or I'm sure someone will post it soon), and adjustable trackbar will help re-center the axles but that's not causing your problem. Your problem is you also need to adjust your drag-link to re-center your steering wheel. It'll all be described in the jeep alignment link I recommended searching above. Do this all when you finish or you'll end up doing it twice to make sure everything is good after the install is fully completed.|

you will need to get it re-aligned before it will steer correctly......an adjustable front track bar is a good idea to get things back in alignment.
I'm going to install the RC 3.25" in a couple weeks...keep us posted.
musta looked a little weird going down the road with the front 3.25" higher than the rear......

Rough country 3.25" lift steering problens
Ok so I have installed the front suspension so far. I took it out for a test drive today and I found that I have to hold the wheel sideways for it to go straight. Is this just the alignment that got sacked out of place or is it something else?
