stimpy I just replaced my steering box. Napaonline has re-manufactured ones that are $164.00. You pay a core charge of $139.00. The Haynes manual explains how to change them out. Only special tool you will need is a pitman arm puller.

Is it safe to say my pressure hose is shot too? Not only would I enjoy not buying a pressure hose, I don't want this to turn into more of a project then it is.
Replace the return lines first, if no leak you're home free.

Kykid My pump went out couple months ago and it was a nightmare. Pulley flew off going down the interstate and I lost my brand new gates belt and almost lost the pulley which is 50 bucks itself. I had to get a tow and everything. I went to my trusted mechanic shop who specializes in chryslers and and got fitted with a brand new pump with a factory dealer warranty. I recommend a oem pump cause it will last another 130,000 miles probably. I think it was around 200 bucks but well worth it. Trust me you don't want that pulley flying off going down the road cause it was 50 bucks alone then a quality pulley is gonna run you 40 bucks and a tow isn't gonna be cheap either. Replace it with a new factory pump and save yourself the trouble that it cost me. I usually do my own work too so if your handy with tools youll save yourself some labor cost. In my situation I just let the mechanic do the work and 2hrs later I was back on the street.

llaberion I noticed a small amount of fluid leaking under the front of my jeep, so I checked my power steering fluid and it was really low. Also, when I turn the wheel it makes a loud screeching noise.

I called a jeep dealer to ask how much it would cost to fix and they told me about $480 .. !
