I saw somewhere that someone had recommended zipper extensions. Can't remember where I saw it but I think I'm probably going to go with a black diamond in sail cloth. I've got a cab cover I can throw on if I need to and if I have to drive in the rain or got caught out which will happen eventually in Houston I suppose I could put the windows in and if they are at home then just get wet.
If I am not mistaken I think I need rampage hearder, frameless kit, my tailgate bar could be wore out and might need to be replaced and possibly zipper extensions. Can anyone think of anything else I might need to complete the install other than common sense? I saw that link about and will probably call Quadratec and ask if they will match the price and just get everything I need from them.

Rampage customer service was useless. Returned it and bought a trektop.

I like mine overall. 98% of the time I have only the top on though. The side windows and rear window stay in the house under my bed. I had them in the pocket but they made a huge hump that looked bad (at least to me). There's still a hump without the windows tucked in but it is somewhat less noticeable. Also, at interstate speeds the Velcro on the back (where you put the windows in the pocket) will come loose and flap a little. I don't think it would be a problem if you had the rear window installed though. It's not really that big of a deal as I just press it together every morning when I walk by the back of it.
A few weeks ago we had 5 days of Scattered Showers in the forecast so I put the windows in. The fit was so tight that a couple of the teeth attached to the top "popped/ripped" loose as I was trying to get the drivers side window in. I guess I don't know my own strength or else the top is just too damn tight. I haven't decided what to do about the issue yet. Not sure who would fix something like that and I'll probably leave the windows out for another 4 weeks or so until it gets cold here.

I wrote the review ... Great product. I will get sail cloth next go around.
Window develop scratches over time ... I was constantly removing and replacing mine when dirty. Mothers plastic polish cleans them up.
I don't think I even had a problem with leaks but I did notice over time the material stretched a bit more when hot out ... Kinda expect this with age.
Really an A+ product. Keep it clean and install correctly is my advice. I'm getting one for my JK in the spring.

|drewyoungblood||I'd like to hear more about any problems people have had with the rampage frameless and leaking as well as getting the windows to fit in the pocket properly. Has anyone had any problems with it rubbing in a sound bar?|

|Crby77||I love the idea of this top but mine tends to leak on the passenger side and I have no clue why. My guess is the stupid foam inserts have completely flattened... has anyone been able to replace those with something else?|

|celticsfan||For those who use the top to store the windows did you just fold the edges so that they were flat to be stored in that pocket?|

I have a 08 jk and I am trying to put on the Rampage frameless top but in the proses of changing over the front channel piece and half the screw holes are blocked by the fabric, am I really supposed to screw though it or did I get the wrong top?

|00TJSport||I just got my new Rampage frameless top. I have the factory soft top now. Is there a header I need to remove before installing the new top, or is it already connected to the original top. This is all new to me. Thanks|

Took the windows off for the first time since i got my rampage. On board storage for the windows worked great and not that much flapping on the freeway. Heres a pic :-)

|7Mick2||I have the top and love everything about it! When I first got it, there was a problem with the windshield channel's fit on the top of the windshield. There was a ¾ inch "gap" that caused an incredible amount of wind noise. I took it back to Rampage and "MANY Props" to the guys there! They looked at the problem, tried on a couple of different windshield channels. They even took one off of their "Show Jeep" that had a "perfect fit" and tried it on mine. The solution was to slightly bend the windshield channel at the ends to fit the "contour" of my particular windshield. Again, I highly recommend this top and must again say that Rampage's Customer Service is top notch!|

|Bigkidneys||Was dreading installing mine this weekend as I grew fond of my Smittybilt Diamond Khaki extended top and after reading the many reviews about it being difficult to put on the first time I was worried... That being said, took the top into my sauna at my condoplex for 20 minutes and the thing went on ridiculously easy. Knew something was fishy and no way in hell I was gonna escape busting knuckles and cursing like the Sailor I am. Then it hit! Damn back window is no where even close to being able to get on. About an inch gap left and the top is square on both sides evenly. Did anyone have difficulty with the rear window? Should I take the sides out and lock in the back window first?|

I have a Rampage kit on my 05 LJ. I thought it was crap until I stuffed a few towels into the storage area.

That was in February. In a heated garage.
Once summer rolled around it was easy to put the sides in.

|7Mick2||I bought the top for my 06 TJ.... there is a 3/4" "gap" between the top of the windshield rubber and the bottom of the Wind Chanel. There is a lot of wind noise there. What year is your Jeep and what did you do to fix this? I am in contact with Rampage, and they are trying to help. They told me that there was a difference in the 05/06 top and the rest of the TJs... and they did not make a Wind Channel specific for the 05/06. So I am trying to find ideas on how to "fill the gap" and knock down the wind noise.|

|krisak||Just a note of caution on these - they're best avoided if you have an LJ and want to take the sides and back off. Work great on the TJ, but with the LJ's extra roll cage length they flap around like you've got a bald eagle stuck behind the seats. I finally had to run a ratcheting strap around mine just behind the speaker pods to keep it down. What they did with the LJ version was just stretch it to cover, but didn't really test it enough to realize that the top part of it needs to be strapped to the bars.|

|Metalhead2475||I'm thinking of getting a frameless soft top, this may be a dumb question but you can take the top down like a framed top instead of just using it as a full/safari top?|

I sold off my hard-top earlier this year. Used it only for "winters" out here, and the rest of the time it was off. No room to store it and I didn't like it, so it went.
Came time last week to get the soft-top put back on, and well my OEM top was more or less trashed. So I trashed it. I'm not in the best financial situation to buy a new new top, but I needed one. Ordered the Trail top bowless soft top.
Install was a bit of a PITA, because I did it by myself but so far I like it. Its a little noisy, but overall not bad. Quality seems fine to me, and its nice to have a 2yr warranty on it. I definitely like the feature to be able to go to a safari top and back really easily.
