Ibuildembig Yeah lol, pay those guys at AEV to do it

srt8cherokee Is there an "easy" button like staples???

Ibuildembig Sure no problem....just look at it like this: a 4bt is exactly the same as a 6bt minus 2 cylinders. Now, that being said there are 6bts making well over 1600+ horsepower which is 266 hp per cylinder. More of the moderate 6bts will be in the 600-700 range which is still 100 horse per cylinder...which would net you 400 horse on a 4 cylinder. Most of it can be achieved for 1500 bucks or so after you get the motor. It involves injection pump work, valve springs, injectors, and turbo mods.

Ibuildembig Yeah all the companies that do that kinda work are just plain retarded...I have built 600 horse motors for less than 2000 bucks.

A 4bt is a 4 cylinder and they come in different versions. Most of them come in stepvans or box trucks. There's usually a few on ebay from time to time. If you are starting from scratch and have the time to search, I would get one with a P pump instead of a rotary pump as they are alot easier to mod.

Here's some light reading for ya

srt8cherokee wait, so a 4bt is a diesel 4 cylinder? What type of vehicle does it come in. 400hp seriously? I have an srt8 cherokee with 500hp. I saw on powerblock one time where a company was putting in the 6.1 into the wrangler. I looked it up and they wanted like 30k for the swap... I don't think so!!!!

Ibuildembig 6BT is way too heavy and overkill for a jeep in my opinion....considering a guy can get 400 horse out of a 4bt fairly easy.

srt8cherokee I'm not looking to line someone's pockets for an engine swap. I will probably just go with that I6 you are talking about. Is there any detailed threads about the swap with what they used for transmission, transfer case, wiring harness etc?

Thanks in advance

Ibuildembig lol that's the truth....for what those guys charge a guy could build 3 rigs at least.

diesel swap?

I am looking at buying a 4door wrangler and swapping out the stock v6 for a diesel, well the largest turbo diesel I can squeeze in there. Has anyone done this yet? I realize that I will have to swap the whole power train as well. My initial idea was to purchase an H1 Hummer, but they have LOTS of problems. Any help would be appreciated
