I haven't been around for a long time. You know, life happens...People get busy.
Anyways, the Jeep is now for sale and you can find it on everyone's favorite online auction site. Hint: It rhymes with freeway.
I know I'm long overdue for pictures and video of this CJ, but late is better than never.
You can find a gallery of 114 pictures here: https://plus.google.com/photos/10046...-AE&banner=pwa

Thank you so much for this post!!
The details provided by the pictures are immense.
I want to build a CJ5 from the ground up with all new aftermarket parts, and this has been exceptionally informative for the details.
I applaud you for your diligence, and I applaud your father for being a "dad"!!
Mad props to both of you!!
I hope you and your family are loving the ride!!

Wow. I haven't been on here for a long while...
The Jeep is all finished up. We enjoyed the Hell out of it this past year.
We took it to the Bantam Jeep Festival in Bulter, PA and won third place in the show and shine. Everyone seemed to love it.

I don't think he's checking this thread anymore, but as far as I know, the CJ is done...unless they decide to add-on or change some of their designs around a little...which with his dad is ALWAYS a possibility. lol
I've still got his photo set here...so if I get a chance, I'll go through and pick some good ones out and upload em here.

|s3nt3nc3d||My buddy was playing with his new DSLR and offered to use Hazzo's Jeep for some practice shots while he was still figuring the settings out...we hoped to get a more off-road looking setting but that was the best we could come up with on short notice.|

Just a teaser photo... I've got the photo set on a CD. All in high-resolution...I'll get em to ya soon. There's a few pretty good ones in there that'll be worth framing.

|s3nt3nc3d||If my buddy ever gets me the pics he took of Hazzo's Jeep, he'll have some pretty good pics to post in the near future...my buddy has a habit of being extremely lazy and has yet to get them to me however. You guys need to nag at Hazzo to fix his tail light however...that Jeep looks and sounds badass...and he's driving around with the tail light out!!!!! WTF?!?! lol|

How you enjoying your project?
|06-10-2011 12:30 PM|
Hazzo1 you rock! that the way you restore a Jeep! thanks for all the pic's and all the good ideals. Your Jeep rocks.

This project started as a weekend wheeler and a driver....But it progressively became what it is now...Kind of a 'hot rod' Jeep...It won't see any hard wheeling or rocks...
But. When it does snow, I'll be damned if I don't put on the snow mobile suit to go out and play. I don't need some silly hardtop to do that.

|Evian||I like everything you did to the Jeep but that roll bar has to go. It makes the Jeep a summer vehicle. If you would have designed the rollbar to allow a hard top to be installed you would end up with a more practical Jeep which you could drive daily. Why spend so much time and money for a summer driver? Jeeps should be enjoyed year round. Well, that is my thoughts. To each their own.|

My dad and I ditched the worm-drive steering box in favor of a modern Chevrolet piece. If I can remember correctly, we used a kit from Advances Adapters. It came with the mounting brackets (which need welded in place). We also used a tilt column from a '70's Chevrolet pickup truck.
As far as mods go, we had to fabricate a custom mount for the column and one of the primary tubes on our longtube fenderwell headers had to be cut and changed because it interfered with the steering shaft.
