Mccrum Early congrats. You both will have a blast out in Vegas. Just three days ago I proposed to my girlfriend now fiancee. We were just out there a few months ago. If you have never been to the hoover dam they just made the new Hoover Dam Bypass which just opened October 19th. It was under construction when we went there. Would be pretty neat to ride on that. We also went to a place in Calico,CA which didnt take long to get to from Vegas. Its a old mining camp. That was pretty neat. Im sure you will find plenty of trails to ride on. Just dont run over any of the roadrunners lol

JeepnJim Heck yes! I figure about $1,500 set aside for gas is a good bet. It's gonna be worth it. I just read about a trail that follows an old stage route between Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. Surely we can find some off road fun somewhere out there.

coolbreeze Everyone should get married in Las Vegas at least once. Anyway, lots of Jeeping to do. If you haven't seen Death Valley, check it out. Seriously, have food and plenty of water with you. After almost 1,700 miles of Jeep, some comfort will in order though

azwillysjp Congrats! Make sure to bring a tire patch plug repair kit for all the cacti, and plenty of water, even if the weather is nice it is still a desert.

Las Vegas Trip Checklist

My girlfriend of 9 years wants us to drive the Jeep to Vegas and get married. Gotta love that! Vegas is about 1,666 miles from Missouri so I've been preparing my '04 X for the trip. We leave this Friday and have two weeks to wander through the desert. Here' what I've done: all new hoses, thermostat, coolant, new belt, new tranny filter and fluid, new brakes frnt and rear, tire rotation, new air filter, oil change, recent shock replacement, three month old battery is good and I greased all fittings on my suspension and steering. Any other suggestions for getting my (our) Jeep ready for the long trip across the desert? She wants us to get married at the drive-through chapel. She's a true Jeep girl. No wonder I love her so much!
