I too am a big Craigslist person, especially for used guitars. Actually I've sold a couple cars on there too.

|texascc||I love Craigslist for everything EXCEPT vehicles. When I was Jeep shopping, there were literally more scams than actual legit listings. They really need to try and weed out the crooks better. Besides that, they are a great site. I came across an Acura NSX with only 20K miles and in perfect condition for only $7500. Of course I inquired and got the standard "I'm in London on business, but send me a deposit and I'll give you more directions" response. Does anyone actually fall for these scams?|

|Triple88a||what i hate the most is that from lies like those you get messed up and dont trust true and honest people that want to buy your car.. for me the guy that actually ended up buying the car.. he was from indiana.. he never looked at the car but was saying he will buy it.. i was scared to take his money man.. i felt like what if they are fake.. i sold my car on my bank's parking so i could add the money while he was there..|

when i sold my old car i had it on craigs list.. i got another scam like that.
it went something like that... currently i'm located in some country (forgot) but i have a friend in your area that owns me 7k dollars, i will just tell him to give you the money he owns me as a check. I trust you that you will take the 5k you're asking for your car and send the rest of the money back to me with the car. You can use some of the left over money to ship the car.

Email him back and tell him that you will buy his jeep if he sends you a picture back of him with no shirt on and "Pony's are for Boys" painted across his chest.

I found my jeep on craiglists, I went to go see it and drive it and did a lot of research before I gave him the nice big check.
It sucks that there are so many scam artists.

|Jeepluv07||Ive seen the same scam on ebay with ATVs all the time. I would love to find the people who actually fall for this. Im sure I could scrap up a thing or two to sell them.|
